2025 Four Continents Free Dance

Same, only I lost more because I had Cpom in 3rd and LaLa in 4th.
oh well.. that was a bad move :)
It could easily have gone the other way around if the panel was a bit different and more US biased. I´m not complaining though, I like to see judging like this

:nana::nana:
the panel was enough US biased... technical specialist Judy Blumberg from the USA LOL... and David Molina as Technical controller from France, a long time disliker of Canadian teams like Virtue-Moir, Weapo and Pipau :)
Also I got 60 points in men which is the best outcome in the mess :LOL:
WOW.. impressive.

Yay Piper and Paul!

Just want to backtrack to say I love ZK’s program - sophisticated, elegant, spare but passionate, it does not play to the cheap seats. One of the best things Benoit has choreographed. They skated it beautifully.

Vadym, needs a haircut. But he’s a fabulous ice dancer. (Emi is getting there.)

Before I head to bed and probably already shared before but look it's Chris in his skating days!

No wonder he loves a tight foot position when jumping, he's got something weird going on :laugh2:

PS Dunno why that preview has French (?) in it, I'm not on my VPN or anything...)

4cc live is over for me. time for me to go, see you around. love you all 😘

I was going to reply and say "Oh, come on. We need you!"

And then I read @flanker's post:

OK, dance has finished. Only women await us but free skates start at completely impossible time for me tomorrow so I don't think I would see much of it. :(

And decided to check what time it was on.

Nope. I'm out too. Much as I love the girls, there is no way I am watching them at 02:25am! :drama:

Well that was interesting! Seeing the programs back to back, I prefer C/B's because their elements are seamlessly interwoven and I love jazz. You don't feel like one element is ending and another beginning. It's truly one dance in perfect harmony with the music. But, I like the quirkiness of some of P/ P moves. I enjoy them skating in hold. I also enjoy having some upsets in dance. So, this result is nice. It makes worlds more interesting. I also find C/ B and P/ P to still be miles ahead of the rest of the field here.

L/L are great skaters but they don't have any unique pieces of choreo in that skate. C/P have gotten a lot better but Carmen isn't anything new either and I guess I just don't get the hype . Z/J's program starts well but they aren't as refined yet and the ending is a bit of a let down. I want more from the teams pushing for the top.

Based on that LaLa has made some fluke mistakes in the past and Cpoms FD being very strong IMO. But I should have calculated in that LaLa was going to have some points on them from RD that would help them get the medal overall.

Technical specialist are one thing but ID podium or often based on GOE. So those judges pushing their buttons count much as well.

Yep, @labgoat linked to that video a few weeks ago during Europeans. But, it's good to post it again so that more people see it.

Did you notice - that was a 5 minute programme! :drama:

Imagine what the skaters nowadays would think of that.

Interesting. For a long time there the previews were coming up in German. Now it's switched to French.

Carmen ? Not so strong until US Nationals. But it's okay... we all have our own and unique crystal balls :)

Yes but TP in dance, since everyone does the same elements can break it for some teams... the levels for the one foot for instance, almost cost Piper and Paul the event here... One element with lower level and all the GOE advantage disappears...

I really hope Chris isn’t the commentator for Worlds ice dance. Im glad Piper and Paul won not only because I love them but it’s a bit boring with C/B winning all the time and while I think they are fabulous, they are not P/C level to be dominating all the time.
yup... Chris has been very US forward in his dance comments... and choice of interviews...

I got my heart's desire in the men's event with Jimmy getting a medal. I actually am okay with Chock & Bates not winning. It takes the pressure off a bit in terms of worrying about getting beaten. This lights a fire in both teams bellies to get back to work for worlds. See you folks tomorrow for ladies after today's medals.
