2025 Four Continents Men's Free Skate

Heh the purple flowers match Misha and Jimmy's costumes, not so much Jun's...although the red shirt DOES make them stand out.

I'm kinda sad they don't have real flags anymore, it's just not the same on a screen....

Although those ones are quite nice, I swear I saw one where it looked like they'd just bought them up on MS Paint with no background or waving effect or anything.

Is this the first medal in a major event for Jimmy? I think it might be!

Way to go, Mr Ma! You kept your head and skated your best today.
Yes. He's won medals at Challengers, but not GPs and not 4CCs, though he was in position 2 years ago as you know. He hasn't even won a medal at US Nationals as Chris pointed out.

If you do your company would be enjoyed, but if you don't I will root for all the Canadians to skate well.
Please do it for me as well. I don't have staying up into the wee hours in me any more. But I did do it to fly from Kelowna to Dallas (via Toronto, no less) for Skate America, so there's that.

Of course, I want everyone to skate well. Come what may.

Huge Congrats to all the medalists!
All well deserved!

Misha's clean skate with that crazy tech!

Jun's fabulous redemption free (not that his SP was terrible)

Jimmy managing to keep it together and delivering a couple of really beautiful 4Ts!

Lots of really enjoyable performances from the other guys as well. Great job by all!

And just want to say how proud I am of the three Japanese boys for all fighting hard.

I'm especially proud of Kao getting out there and doing the best he could under the circumstance.
He said after the SP that he hadn't practiced his FS with jumps yet and didn't even have a planned layout decided.
He also knew he was lacking stamina for the FS so was going to be very careful not to overdo and cause another injury.
I know people were saying in the SP thread that he should've withdrawn but I think this has been a good learning opportunity for him.
The fact that avoiding the Toeloop forced him to train and attempt other jumps and combos in his programs will only benefit him in the future.

I think if I were as fierce a jumper as Kao and had to skate to this, I might also lose my place and stumble. It’s just not his thing.
Please let him choose something he personally likes for next season
He did choose this music himself. He was adamant about it.

Kao and his coach are probably the most injured team of the event. He has injured leg, she has injured arm 😅
Noriko sensei was wearing a cast during JNats (not sure if it's the same arm/injury) and then an eye patch a few weeks ago at another domestic event.
Kao needs to take her to the temple with him to get blessed

What great skates from the top 3! I can't wait to rewatch them all. I fell asleep after Hiwatashi and woke up to the screams of Cha's 4S, but judging by the final results, I didn't really miss that much in between. I'll have to go back and rewatch Miura, Kim, and Tsuboi, but great to see Pulkinen and Hiwatashi pull themselves up to 8th and 9th.
