Yuma has to be one of the only skaters who can skate after Jason and not appear ugly on the ice.. The first half of that skate was just perfect. Then, the mistakes and then the wonderful ending.

What a pity. He mistimed the quad, tried to improvise and fell in the end. Still a marvelous skate.

Funny, how he has neither the posture or the style for such big music, but he makes it believable and entertaining anyways.

Why can't Yuma's choreo sequence get 5-7 points for GOE like ice dancers, it deserves that much

I mean, only Olympics matter anyways. Would you trade a good skate today for a bad one in February? Let him get this all out at stages.

yup... a Canadian man getting a medal at JGP earlier this year... and now, at GP... who would have said that at the beginning of the season...
When was the last time this happened ?

That was a bit unusual for Jason. He will probably be given the PCS to go ahead of Roman, although I am not sure it would be deserved.

According to Mark rules say there is a limit to how high the PCS can go with 2 mistakes so he can't really be held up. I kind of dislike that, actually. His skating skills and the quality of edges and complicated level of his choreo don't change because he had trouble with the Axel jumps in the first 30 seconds.

I'd say the same about Yuma just now. His skating skills and presentation don't change with a fall on a jump.

Kagiyama had a brilliant start of the free skate with that huge quadruple salchow, then from the middle errors crept in with a change of mind due to mistiming the entry to quad toeloop. Still the score is gonna be safe for the 1st place (now)
