It looks like they may go into lead but franky speaking, it was a mess, their pair elements do not look strong at all.

good thing cacti aren't skating todayI believe they can do this better?
Pairs made lots of little mistakes from what I've seen, but not enough to quench Rinky's appetite. I'm worried for the girls.

They're such a lovely team, and this program is good for them. The mistakes are what they are, but their biggest competition here made an even costlier mistake. (Her 2A has improved, though, so props for that).

it actually is a gender-neutral name. French has many... Camille, Laurence, Claude.
What is funny is that Isabeau is really a girls' name. When I was a kid, we had this song we sang, Isabeau, s'y promène etc... and I thought it was a boy, the masculine version of Isabelle
Of course, we didn't sing the million paragraphs of lyrics so it was never clear with pronouns... I learned a little later it was just a variation of Isabelle

If you are talking about Desrochers and Trasher, they have actually a very solid twist, lifts and in general good pair elements. The issues are with the dismount type of elements like the jumps or the throws. Their case is different among pair skaters in Canada who are usually very strong single skaters switching to pairs, sometimes doing both at the same time. He was a hockey player and she was a recreative skater. So their jumps are weak but as he is very strong and they are well-matched, their pair elements are quite good. Last year, they skated senior domestically at Nationals and they didn't stand out as being "weak on pair elements" at all. Their lifts are very impressive usually and they have a big twist. Jazmine had to learn the lutz/flip throw this year because of the requirements, and I am surprised she is almost landing it already. I predict the Chinese team will win this but I wouldn't call jazzy and kiki weak on pair elements. Quality issues for sure today and the score card reflects that.

They also look to really be focusing on the choreo and presentation which is the complete opposite of most Jr teams.
I think she had too much nervous energy so things were a bit off but once they get a couple more competitions in them with this program I think it will be super fun.

They were swapped in on Sep 2nd on the USFS assignment page, but I don't know when the ISU updated everything to reflect that.Where did Jarmoc/Witkowski spring from? I'm sure McDanold/Felberbaum were the second US pair when I did my predictions...
