Ksenia is lovely, and her extensive experience in ballet and dance is very evident. It's not easy for her right now, as her father passed away recently, so that might have had an impact on her here too.

However, and that is nothing against Ksenia, I do have to question her coaches. The jumping technique they taught her is not the best (except for the Lutz and Flip, she does not have a 3T and her 3Lo and 3S are inconsistent) and it's starting to show now as she is growing up.

Ambitious performance, but not everything worked. Still nice to watch.
Her more stable jumps are the lutz and flip. So she's a bit in trouble this season. In the SP, she does need the loop. In the LP, I have never seen her land a triple toe... so it's not just a problem for combos but she cannot use that jump I guess....
So she does two lutzes and two flips because she has no other option really.

one click ahead of me .

Arghhhh about 5 hours until Senior Ladies at Atlantics even starts and there are 11 of them..
This is going to be a very long day.

A solid skate from Paula. The doublet and hose look was unexpected, but works well. The 2T-2T looked very strange, and hearing that it was supposed to be a 3T makes sense. Very cool head to recover the 3S entry. Cantilever in the choreo sequence! I liked the closing arm movements, very precise.

Oh, Light of the Seven back to back. Petra opens well with a nice 3Lo-2T. She has a good loop, and her first half 2A looks to cover a fair bit of ice. She manages to catch up the music after that salchow fall, without looking like she's rushing.

Diana Alexandra is delightful, and such a good skater. I love the opening choreography, and how delightfully filled with transitions her skating is, such as the twizzles-spiral-2A-twizzles at the start. I loved the movement of her arms in the choreo sequence Ina Bauer, and the pretty loop after the 2F-2T-2T. The spins showcase her flexibility well. The costuming, choreography and music remind me very much of the packaging of Anna Shcherbakova as a junior; some of it is definitely the ribbon round her bun, which reminds me of Anna's SP in her JGP debut, and some of it is also her musicality.
