2025 Skate Canada Men's Free Skate

Essentially, he beats the three last place skaters with his free program alone. And both of Canada's top skaters beat his free program alone by less than 10 points with their total score... yikes. I find his programs atrocious, but there's no denying that that is completely mind-boggling

you know what's missing? The devil whispered in my ear You won't make it through this storm. ' I whispered in the devil's ear, 'I AM the storm.

Is that Illia's father with him in the K&C? probably not, he looks too young 😛

Kevin finishes 11th in the end 🙈 and overall, an event to forget for most (actually, all but one 🙈) of the skaters out there

yes that is his dad and yes he still looks quite young

Amazing and exciting! Love the resulting podium. Mom saw staff moving the stretcher in the back and panicked it was for Miura. Ended up giving standing ovation to all podium finishers we were so hyped. Malinin won the free right before the last 2 combos, lol. So happy we got to see a clean skate from him like in France! I am still having a hard time focusing on Bratti/Somerville. Gonna try!

But Ilia is much older and more experienced then Nathan was. Heck he should be going to his 2nd Olympics to be honest with how he skated at Nationals in 2022.
Nathan was 19 in 2018.

Ilia is 20 now.

Ice is slippery. That said, Ilia would be a heavy odds on favorite. Is he 50 points better than the rest of a “normal” field though? Heck no :)

Yes, I don't know what the US Fed was thinking back then. Ilia took silver at nationals, Jason was 4th and never had a change at an olympic medal anyway. And Vincent ended up wd.

I love this podium so much.

Ilia is just so masterful in person. No sense of 😬 with him at all.

Selevko was entertaining. Miura rose to the occasion, something that was not at all certain the first day of practice. He is very good at filling the ice (as is Roman). I will always uber skaters that have that quality.
