Jia was also FANTASTIC. Beautiful skates from both top skaters.

He's "managing so that it(ankle) doesn't get worse", and from what I've seen his ankle still hurts. It's just that it's not so severe that he can't get through his skateI'm just watching the playback of the men's event and that may be the best 4T I've seen Junhwan do. Hope that means he's getting healthier.
Considering she performed in the Ice Gala in Oberstdorf on 30th Dec., just four days before the championships, she did really well.Haein was very tentative and if you saw her practice you’d understand why. You could see her thinking throughout her program. But, like always, she does enough. I hope she has enough time to practice for 4CC and Worlds.

That is great news and congrats to Junhwan!I'm just watching the playback of the men's event and that may be the best 4T I've seen Junhwan do. Hope that means he's getting healthier.
I feel blessed to have watched Hae-in and Chaeyon (and Ye-lim) live in 2023 at four conts...and of course Hae-in came back from 6th place to win....and then took silver at worlds....and who took Bronze at worlds that year? Mai Mihara. Fortunes change in this sport for many reasons in what appears to be a blink of an eye for many reasons. Best wishes to all the amazing Koreans we saw here.....What will the top six look like next year?Such an amazing competition!!
Both skaters skated so well.
Jia Shin is back.
Chaeyon barely won by one point.
They are going to push each other for next year!!
I didn’t think I would see two 215+ performances at Korean Nationals and I did. Wow!!
Also, Yujae just edged out her twin by one point for the last Junior Worlds spot. Going for the 3A in the SP made the difference. I kinda feel more safe with Yuseong going to Worlds. Getting three spots with Yujae could be a risk.
Also, Ahsun is the clear #2 Senior female skater at this moment. She is going to have to skate cleanly for Korea to retain three spots.
Haein did enough to grab the third spot to Worlds. I thought Ko should have placed higher than her. Haein was very tentative and if you saw her practice you’d understand why. You could see her thinking throughout her program. But, like always, she does enough. I hope she has enough time to practice for 4CC and Worlds.
Yes Mao doesn't have problems with her jumps other than the ultra c elements and she gets the triple axel at least many timesJia Shin conforms with the Korean style in her skating, whereas Chaeyeon Kim is more of an individual rather than a Yuna Kim clone.
I would be surprised if Jia won Junior Worlds, unless Mao Shimada is absent. Jia can beat Mao in the SP, and has done so in the past. However, she cannot match Mao's technical content in the free. She needs a 3A and a quad to be able to beat Mao there, unless Mao has an uncharacteristically poor skate. Even with a fall, downgrade and multiple underotations from Mao at the Youth Olympics, Jia was still fractions of a point behind her in the free. It's possible for Jia to win if she goes completely clean and Mao falls and makes other errors, but it is unlikely because Mao is usually very consistent.
