What a fun program! I think this team is so promising - they're very young, and represent part of the resurgence of Swiss skating. They have such personality on the ice as well. If they can place above 19th 16th place at this event, they can qualify for the Olympics, which would be a huge step for this team. Switzerland has a great chance at the Team Event - they have an ice dance team that can compete if need be, assuming there are additional team event spots left. I'm glad to see them and their team so happy at the end of the program.

They weren't able to make the qualifying TES score for Skate Canada Challenge at Quebec Sectionals (which they needed to qualify for Nationals), she announced what looked like her retirement at the time after that. Thierry Ferland was briefly on the Patinage Quebec lists with a new partner, but they never competed together.
Thanks. Jean Luc and Jackie were like “we don’t know what happened” during practice.

There's a maximum of 4 pairs per warm-up though, so the same number of warm-ups and ice resurfacings. It's not quite as long as the women's event, but longer than a singles event with the same entry number would be.
Well I guess he has to wait however long he has to wait. I was trying to hurry it along for his sake.

Hi everyone! World's Pairs Short Program is literally the FIRST skating event this season I have watched live as it happens! The first two pairs did not disappoint. Give Oxana & partner 395730573 points just for her facial expressions!!! 😃 I am here for such happy skaters!

How old is Nina Mozer now? I had no idea she was still coaching. Is she still wearing fabulous ponchos???

Note, only 16 Olympic spots are on the line here, three are reserved for the Olympic qualifying competition. So unfortunately, in contrast to singles & dance, not every team who makes the Free will qualify for the Olympics regardless of multiple entries.

This team has some really unique and interesting choreography - while I'd like to see it carry into some of the transitional content, I love the innovation, particularly in the lift. All of their elements are really good - they just need a little more polish and speed on the in-betweens.

I really wish I could get the ISU stream to work on my VPN. I'm on CBC and I'm glad to be able to watch, but Chris drives me absolutely batty.

Are they decided today? I thought it was the top 16 after the free?
