Putting the triple combo last in the program turned to be a pretty bad idea for Samodelkina, she missed so many points when she couldn't land the first jump of it. I get she is a very solid jumper usually, bit it seems an unnecessary risk.

Still, I enjoyed her skate a lot, her jumps are very impressive and she is an elegant skater.

What on earth happened in ice dance? I've seen the results, but not the programmes. How did Reed/Ambrulevicius not qualify and how did Turkkila/Versluis end up as the last of the qualifiers? They should have both been comfortably in the top half?

Her basic skating is nice but that program is 'man with lots of quads' empty. If judges actually deferentiated between the different components than, yes, give her better marks in SS. But, in terms of a program, she doesn't have much of one so I would go pretty low in the other two categories.

Lara is happy with her program and felt comfortable on the ice.

Don't know why but I would be thrill if Maddie Schizas did a Gabby Daleman performance and finish 3rd place like her in the past !! It would be an amazing story !!

Samodelkina's skating skills were better than Lorine and Lara, but composition and presentation were weaker. I think the score and placement are fair.

Both teams had a fall in the midline step sequence and ended up 0.01 points apart.
also some shaky pattern levels across the board, except for chock and Bates who maxed everything

Yes, I agree that SS could be higher although Lara's SS aren't noticeable worse. But, I think that program is less than just 'ok' imho. It almost doesn't exist. So, I think fair judging would have her even lower than what the judges have her in other categories so overall it seems fine. Lara is a far more compete skater imho.
