Or, hear me out, Kaoruko had rotation issues. I love her too, but this is not the first time she's getting dinged for her jumps (Japanese Winter Sports Festival...), and I certainly saw the missing rotation without slow motion for most of the calls she got.

She still blows Shin out of the water and then out of the air, if we go with balanced, powerful and clean. No way Shin should be that much in the lead with that short and that fall.

Only if she was the only skater would that be true. With two skaters or more, the top two must add up to less than 13. More important I would argue are the JGP spots, which she is doing a great job of climbing up the ranks for.
