KAORI!!! How she landed those lutz, salchow and 3T I have no idea, Japanese catlike superpower
Jump landing issues aside, I think that was the best she performed this free skate. Her expressions were just awesome!

Also, watching Kaori right after Nastya is like watching a shinkansen passed by right after a regular train

Alysa is one amazing competitor, seemingly impervious to pressure. She has a unique mindset that allows her to skate her best. She brings us all along on her ride and it is great fun. What she has done in such a short time is amazing.

I really can't get into this program at all from Alysa. So, I have to say I'm on the side of Amber deserving more PCS than her. Yes, both programs are quite empty but there is a lack of upper body commitment to this program that Amber has. Plus, they really are very different in terms of speed. The SP is much more effective.
Her consistency is incredible though.... Who else hasn't missed a jump this year???

My gawd that was good from Alysa. Tech not as high as Amber. It'll come down to PCS and judges' will.

Alysa brings the consistency yet again! Her terrific smile and laid back, cool personality are so endearing. She really has a gift of making skating look easy and fun, and that is her greatest strength. Wonderful!

No - she sped past my highest expectations...

Alysa has improved her skating so much, and her jump consistency has been better than probably ever. This program is unfortunately so choreographically empty, if anyone, even a fraction less expressive than Alysa were skating this, it would be such a dud.

Her skating skills are much better now than as a Junior, she was already improving so much in her last season pre-retirement, well done. She's no Kaori, however, and should definitely not be getting PCS that equal/surpass Kaori's.

(I should add, I haven't had a chance to watch the Senior Worlds FS yet. Too many other things happening in real life).

Whether it is new or not, it was very good!

I love the dress. But, I do tend to love gold dresses, because they remind me of Carolina Kostner in 2003.

Man Alysa is just such a great competitor some skaters if they saw the great skates that came before them even in a event that isn't as pressure packed as Worlds would still feel the pressure and let it get to them but she skated like she was just practicing.
