2025 Worlds: Info and pre-game chat

It would be good if they could bring back Simon and Nicky, but Simon and Belinda would be a great team.

Mark is a little difficult to understand at times, Chris becomes repetitive with his effusiveness and hyping of everything (I can imagine him at the hotel breakfast each morning 'this toast is the best piece of toast I have ever had in my life, the butter is just perfection'), Ted can't be bothered learning many of the skaters names (or mispronounces them on purpose ) and lacks objectivity (gets almost offended if a skater he doesn't like for whatever reason does well, will pick out every little flaw in one skater then ignore every mistake a favourite of his makes ). Just my observation.

Every big event should have Belinda commentating, I would have Simon for the professionalism he brings, the great broadcasting voice, objectivity since he's not from the figure skating industry. He always complements the colour commentator really well. I find Belinda fair and objective.

I want someone who would be quiet during the skate and then give his opinion during the replay i.e Robin Cousins type of commentary. I tend to re-watch my favourites a lot and nothing more annoying when hearing the same commentary again and again. Chris's commentary drove me to despair while re-watching Adam's SP at Europeans (admittedly for an unhealthy number of times :)), thankfully I then found another video on the YouTube of French Eurosport and was delighted to discover that the French commentators did just that - ahh the blessed silence!

Hello! I go to Boston next week. but I can't buy all tickets World Championships.
I will watch TV at Hotel in Boston. Could you tell me how to watch TV WC2025?

Things will either be on USA or NBC, and you'll just have to look in the hotel's channel guide from there.

Speaking of the US TV Schedule, it looks like the NBC family of channels is not airing the Worlds Gala at all? Legacy on Ice is airing that weekend, of course. Actually, I can't remember the last time that NBC aired the Worlds Gala anyway. I assume the Worlds Gala will be on Peacock though? Hopefully. If not, I have a VPN.

You can count me in. If i hear ā€˜it was a cracker’ one more time I’ll scream! Or ā€˜throw the gauntlet’ ; ā€˜ by hook or crook’ ā€˜ clean as a whistle’ etc. . . 2 things I wonder about 1) can he speak in plain English at all 2) Is he on some substance? The latter because it is scarcely believable that someone can stay in that state of over hype & feverish enthusiasm for over 4 hours straight.
Please please could it be anyone but Chris for Worlds šŸ™šŸ»šŸ™šŸ»šŸ™šŸ»
He is just anoying. He says a so so jump is spectacutar...he says "There is nothing in it" instead of that a comp is close. I have told the ISU how annoying he is. He would try and make a snail race exciting. Then there is this audio mixing issue that seems to follow HIM to events???? I think more of us need to comment on the ISU FB page about how he and the audio mixing are destroying our enjoyment of the comps. Give others a chance....Gracie or Tanith would be fine. Ben would be fine.....so many ex skaters...

Mark is a nice person ...can talk a bit much and I cant understand much of what he says....but anyone but Chris, Tara and Johnny.

I find it striking today that even though Johnny Weir says skating is huge in Japan, that probably only holds true for ladies. Its not even in the top 10 in spectator sports there. There was no story about skating Worlds on NBC news this morning. It was all about baseball in Japan. The Dodgers and the Cubs are gonna play a two game series in Tokyo. The tickets sold out in hours. The stadium is huge. Sure, five of the players are of Japanese heritage...but people are paying an arm and a leg for tickets. Meanwhile, in the US, look at the baseball stands during some games.....
(a few days ago, a Japanese team beat both the Dodgers and the Cubs in exhibition play)

On the commentary issue: Remember that most of the people tuning into NBC are novice skating fans. They may not even know the differences between the jumps. As much as I dislike it, I can see why we get the Johnny and Tara style commentary there.

What I'd like is for Peacock to provide expert commentary of the sort that enhances the experience for more seasoned fans. In particular, I remember Jean Luc Baker's dance commentary at Nationals. He explained why one team's element was superior - or needed additional work - but absolutely not in a meanspirited way. "A very solid performance. They should be proud. I'm sure they'll work with their choreographers on extending the line of the free leg as they prepare for future events. There are always places to improve."
