I think he means compared to before. This season is just strict generally. There was a time when this death-drop would've been counted.

Prineva did bomb but it's undeniable judges have been botching spin levels this season. Pretty indignant.

Well SB would be comparing to this same season. So that couldn't really show one way or another if it's different from others. What was generous about the women at Sr. Nats other than Adeliia who got good scoring the whole season for obvious reasons?

I remember they completely botched Mura's levels and did not fix them.

Apart from heartbreak for Dzepka, i'd say everything looks nice but not perfect for anyone. There are tiny mistakes creeping in and I don't disagree with any judging decisions. Pleasantly surprised by that so far, actually. I really hope that Kostyleva will have a trouble free season next year.

I don't think they are doing anything wrong with spin levels. They have a lot of skaters with similar tech, so the tech panel is likely stricter on when each position is considered assumed and exited out. The step sequences lsvels are judged stricter for 2 years running.

Yep. two seasons before Kosty would get 75 and Vika 73-74 for their skates. Esp. this season they dropped it a lot.

Vika's skate wasn't anything like that. She had a bad landing on the combo and she's weak in PCS. She would get 70 with the most generous panel. Also, this season they have a cheap mandatory solo jump.

Even women are getting StSq1-2 parades this season, with countless basics. StSq4 is significantly less common this season. I never saw so many basics before. I barely ever even saw a single one then this season it's multiple per event.
