2026 South Korean Figure Skating Championships

I hope politics in the KSU is not a factor but I do know when Jon Jackson was a USFS judge, the USFS org used political minipulation of scoring ...this according to Jon's book....and that is sad.
I'd be absolutely astonished if it wasn't still done in most of the big feds, especially the US one...

Group 4 summary:

Young:Feels like she was more into the program in the begginning of the season. She was more energetic.Looks lazy now. Also missing 3+3 is dissappoitment.

Ko:Nice program and good skating.I would only change that lower bright pink part of the costumes.Complete missmatch.Destroying entire composition.

Yun:Ye,called and points get really down. Was expecting some improvements tru season, but nothing came.Sadly.

Huh:Getting 1st huh? 😂 Wouldn't guess it,but please change this awful color of her costume. How you could do this to fun and energetic program like it.

Group 5 summary:

Yuseong:Her short messy as always. She is much better in free.Doing well with interpro, but she is still young so it's not the best.Costume is great.Jumps shaky.

Seojin:Really nice.A bit slow 3+3 but still manage to make it.Childish program, but well executed.

Haien:Always waiting for Stsq in Sirens.Never bored, but today you were not expressive like always miss.A bit low energy in the end.3+3 again didn't look flawless.Close results anyway so waiting for free

Chaeyeon:We felt music today hmm? Really nice tempo. To sold that Stsq we need to change that poker face and we gucci.Anyway there is too many calls on her jumps lately.Really need work on this part.

Yujae:Overall really good season from her.She looks more mature than her sister in terms of choreo.Shame that today jumps didn't work, but bright future into seniors with this program quality.

Jia:Will always try to find old Jia in her skating.Technically it's flawless, but still not the choreo diamond she was 2 years ago.Hope it will be polished for the Olympics.Big gap for her making it easy to win tomorrow.

I oversleep for half an hour and the line has swollen like crazy. I hate it here.

Here are the KBS Youtube streams, they are also on the OP as well. KSU's channel Figure Korea will be streaming the rest of the competition and that link will be posted as soon as it's up.

Senior Men FS: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ruxu6w--aEo
Senior Women FS G4-G5: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p4dEQEYGm5g

Edit: KSU stream - https://www.youtube.com/live/uybzegKIl7I?si=QzVbqvsSA8XNQbqE

The idiots set the time at PM not AM :palmf: so please subtract 12 hours from the YT start time

I have a question. Earlier, someone said that Sihyeong Lee would retire after this competition. Does that mean that he is not aiming for a 4Cs or WC selection, or does he not have enough ranking points for those options? I see that no one is mentioning him as a candidate for Olympics, so I figure that is out.

Also, Ahsun was under scored
I agree. I try not to rely on my own judgement too much when doubting the judges, but I've rarely seen a case where the rotation looked so good and was scored so bad. The last 3F was a particularly gorgeous jump, with soft knee bend, straight blade, and smooth glide out. I've never cared for Ahsun overall because her style is so bland, but when she skated I didn't know who it was at first and just noticed how good she looked in comparison to the juniors in that group. I hate all domestic judging, Korean, Japanese, American, you name it. Fortunately I don't follow Russian skating, because it looks like the most corrupt of all.

I was the one who reported Sihyeong's retirement, and the ranking points are irrelevant for 4CCs selection(done at the Ranking Competition) nor WC selection. Ranking points are for deciding NT members. WC men's team is to be the top 2 age eligible skaters, and while it is not that likely that Sihyeong will beat both Jaekeun and Hyungyeom judging by how he's been doing at practice, if he is selected he will likely decline judging by fan reports.

I probably won't have the mental space to write down scores today, so only Olympics/WC/NT selections will be uploaded on this and the Korean FS thread before the protocols are up and I get home

Is Aaron Kim old enough for me to mention what a cutie I think he is without being creepy? 😅

Korea is in good hands with these two junior boys.

They are going to push your darling today with those two free skates
