Milla and Nikolaj were the first to skate. And Nikolaj was very frustrated when they were waiting for their scores, putting his head in his hands a few times.

But, it is not as bad as he thought. They are only 1.09 points behind the leaders.

Thanks for the update. I saw that Nikolaj had a fall in the step sequence so that is probably the reason why he was so frustrated. I´m pretty sure that is the first time he/they had a fall, so it was very unlike them and probably the reason he is mad at himself. But as I say - better do the mistakes now and not at Worlds!

But as you say, overall - that is a very good score for them, but it would have been higher without the mistake. They might even have gotten a new PB. No harm done though. It looks like they likely will stay on the podium and even win, since they judges also gave them the highest PCS.

The withdrawal of the first skater from the Initial U15 Ladies FS means that, at 2h 35m into Day 2, we already have 3 times the number of withdrawals that we had in the whole of Day 1.

A lot of the skaters in the Initial U15 competition are clearly from the same club, because there was a group of girls (including the girl with the glasses from the Initial U12 competition) that kept re-appearing when various skaters were getting their scores.

When Skater #21 arrived, there were eight team-mates waiting for her!

And they were all delighted when she went into 4th position, with just 2 left to go.

We now move from the "Additional Groups" Entries / Results page to the "Interclub" Entries / Results page for the youngest skaters competing this week.

Two groups of Initial U7 girls will take us up to the next resurfacing.

No, I don't understand either why they are on a different Entries / Results page to the rest of the Initial competitions.

Skater #3 was skating to a Polish version of a song I recognised. But I just can't think what it was, and it is really annoying me! She was wearing a royal blue dress... and black boots! Oh, and when she came to get her results, she was carrying a cuddly koala that was bearly as big as she was!

You know that song that I was talking about earlier. Well, we just had a girl skate to the English version of it. Followed by another girl skating to the Polish version of it!

(There might have been a skater in between them. I'm not sure. I'm eating at the moment).

Anyway, I think it was from "Frozen" too.

We are really going through the Disney soundtrack archive at the moment.

The next girl, Skater #9, skated to the Polish version of "I Just Can't Wait To Be King" from "The Lion King".

Then Skater #10 skated to the Polish version of "Can You Feel The Love Tonight?", also from "The Lion King".

Good to see skaters skating to age appropriate music for a change.

And that resurfacing marks the end of the Singles skating for today.

The rest of the day will consist of all the Free Dance segments. We start now with the Solo Dancers, and then we finish the day with the Ice Dancers.

In each case, we start with the Basic Novices, and work our way up to the Seniors.

Between now and then next resurfacing, we have 2 groups of Basic Novices, followed by a group of Intermediate Novices.

The first 2 skaters could not be more contrasting!

The first was a little girl who is obviously at the lower end of the age range for Basic Novices. And it was so cute when, at one point during the programme, you could see her (hot) coach in the background beaming with pride! And seeing the way they were interacting in the results area, they have to be either mother and daughter, or sisters.

The second was a girl who is obviously from the upper end of the age range for Basic Novices. And she was acting all sultry in her programme to Michael Bublé's version of "I'm Feeling Good". That group of skaters that I was talking about during the Initial U15 competition were there for her getting her results. There were 7 skaters and 1 coach in the results area.

Skater #3 was also from the same club. But, whereas all the skaters stayed on, the coach didn't. So, we still had 8 in the results area, but they were all skaters. And Skater #2 was demoted from the sofa to the floor!

I've seen some tassle dresses in my time watching figure skating, but I think this one being worn by the first skater in Group 2, Skater #6, takes the biscuit.

I don't think I've ever seen a dress with so many tassles. Or with tassles that are that long.

Now we have the three Hungarians going back-to-back. Starting with the boy.

Ah, I forgot that all the Hungarians here (including the Kobor twins, who are actually representing Germany) are being looked after by the same coach.

The result was that the boy was sitting on his own. Well, he wasn't really, because he had a massive cuddly toy with him. I think it was supposed to be a bat that had been over-fed!

He went into the lead of both FD and overall.

There was a funny moment during the programme of the first Hungarian girl. You could see the coach in the background jumping up and down dancing along. She was really enjoying herself!

The boy stayed on for her getting her scores.

Skater #8 went into 4th position in the FD and 2nd position overall. Which made it pretty awkward in the results area.

The last of the Hungarians was doing a "Grease" programme. And she was having great fun out there!

The three of them and their coach were all together for Skater #9 getting her results. And it sounded like the coach was speaking Italian to them! Anyway, she went into 7th position in the FD, and 2nd overall.

So, the boy is guaranteed at least a Silver Medal. And if the last Polish girl goes into the Top 3, it is going to make for a very awkward journey home as the girl that will be missing out on a Bronze Medal as a result will be his own team-mate.

I wonder. Are the skaters that were last to skate in each group, Skater #5 and Skater #10, sisters?

They belong to the same club anyway, because they each had the same girl sitting with them. Although, she was the only person sitting with each of them.

I meant to mention at the time - Skater #5 is another skater that wears glasses. Unfortunately, she is currently in last position.

Oh no. I spoke too soon when talking about what would happen if Skater #10 got onto the podium.

She started bawling her eyes out as soon as she sat down.

Hang on. She's won!

But she went into 2nd in the Free Dance. She probably realised she hadn't done enough to win the FD, and thought she hadn't enough of an advantage from the Pattern Dances to hold onto 1st position. But it was enough.

The Intermediate Novices started with the boy. He was wearing a pink top and blue jeans. And, strangely, it worked!

But, I was kinda disappointed that he only had the coach with him. I thought the Hungarian skaters from Basic Novices would have joined him. After all, there was only 1 skater and 1 Warm-Up between them.

OK, nosiness finally got the better of me. The hot coach was sitting with Skater #2. So, I put Skater #2's name into Google to see if I could find out who her coach was.

And I am now kicking myself for not realising who she was.

Well, the boy in Intermediate Novices finished in 5th position. So, he is the only one missing out on a medal because of it being combined results.

No, I am not going to let this go. It is unfair that skaters are missing out on the medals they deserve because of Solo Dance not having separate boys and girls competitions any more.

And I still say that it is a pure money-saving exercise that is being dressed up as something else to disguise that this is what is going on.

We're on the home straight now. A group of Advanced Novices, and then a group containing the Juniors and Seniors, and that is it for the Solo Dance part of the event.

The first skater, Natalia JANURA (POL), is wearing a beautiful blue dress. It is mainly sky blue, but has a pattern that makes it look like she is wearing a royal blue sash over it.

It's interesting looking up the skaters. I couldn't find out when the first skater was born, but all the rest of the skaters were born in 2010. And Skaters #2, #3 and #5 all have ISU Bios for partnerships they have been in, while Skater #4 is on Ice Partner Search looking for a partner (actually, so is Skater #5).

And that Free Dance score has turned what was quite a small advantage into quite a large advantage!

Anastasiia SEMENCHENKO (POL) is wearing a dress that looks very familiar. The right hand half is red, and the left hand side is white. And I am nearly sure I have seen somebody else wearing a similar costume recently.

She was skating to "The Joke's On You". And she was good.

Ah, as well as her coach, she has another younger team-mate with her.
