Amazing Skaters Who Never Won An Individual World Or Olympic Medal

Matt Savoie. Alexander Abt. Nobunari Oda. Silverstein and Pekarek.

Alena Kostornia really did have bad timing. In 2020 she won the Grand Prix final and Europeans, but Worlds was cancelled that year because of covid.
Great choices!

Yu / Jin - so much promise, but they never got to realize it because of the partner switch

Michal Březina - a couple of fourths at Worlds but no medals there or at Olympics

Tomas Verner - a couple of fourths at Worlds but no medals there or at Olympics

Polina Tsurskaya - for a while she was in all the Olympics conversations with Medvedeva, but by the time of the Olympics, injuries sadly sidelined her

Sergei Voronov - for all his accolades, no Olympics appearances (I was really rooting for him) and no Worlds medal

Kristen Moore-Towers - she got a few 4th places World medals with Dylan Moscovitch but no Olympics or World medals with him or with Michael Marinaro

Do you really think we'll see them skate competitively again? It would be great but....
I'm not going to say for sure but it looks like it may happen. If they weren't allowed on the ice, then they wouldn't be teaching seminars and skating in shows.

Has anyone mentioned John Misha Petkevich yet? As well as a fantastic jumper, he was also a fashion innovator. As far as I know, he was the first male singles skater to wear a jumpsuit with turtleneck instead of the suit-white shirt-tie outfit men wore for competition up until then. He made it to 4th in the world, but never into the medals.

Oh I agree. Especially Voronov.

Laetitia Hubert -- excruciatingly close to World bronze in 92 and 98
Angela Nikodinov -- such a classy skater, really wish she could have held it together in that 01 Worlds LP
Josee Chouinard -- another one who couldn't hold it together at the biggest events
Dabin Choi -- just a personal favorite :)
