Apologies for posting this so late. I only got a chance to watch the Men's FS this morning.
Josh Brown finished 18[SUP]th[/SUP] out of 24 in Saturday's Free Skate at the Logroño Junior Grand Prix.

This meant that he maintained his 19[SUP]th[/SUP] position in the overall results!

We got a good shot of Josh B when he and the other skaters were waiting to get onto the ice for the Group 1 Warm-Up. He slotted into 3[SUP]rd[/SUP] in the queue to go onto the ice, but by the time he got his skate guards off, he was 5[SUP]th[/SUP] to come onto the ice.
Unfortunately, because it was the first group, there were a lot of graphics being shown as the housekeeping was being done. This meant that we didn't get to see as much of this group as we did the later groups.
Unless I am very much mistaken (to use an expression made famous by the great Formula 1 commentator Murray Walker), Josh B was not focussed in on AT ALL during the warm-up!

(He did slip into the background of a few of the shots, though). To be honest, I do think this was an innocent mistake. After all, apart from Ancio van Tonder (who was wearing red), EVERYBODY in this group was wearing a costume that was either black or Navy blue. So, they did all look similar from a distance.

Finally, here is the video just showing Josh B's FS (unfortunately, it doesn't show him getting his results):

Josh B’s Free Skate was a real mixed bag. He had 2 falls, the first coming on his first element, a triple flip. Later in the programme, he fell again on another attempt at the same jump. Shortly after this, he completely popped a triple lutz to the extent that, during the highlights, Ted Barton commented that it ended up “almost like a split jump”.
But, the rest of it looked VERY impressive to somebody who is not technically minded. And I think that it was this that saved him from dropping in the overall results.
Nevertheless, Josh B looked scundered with himself after finishing. Even after we came back from the highlights, he still looked totally dejected when waiting for the results. Although Gurgen was just finishing talking to him when we came back to the live pictures, Josh B just nodded. He didn’t speak at all – not even to say hello to anybody at home. So, that just show how disappointed he was in himself.
He scored 83.64, which put him into 2nd out of 6 at the time.

Overall, finishing 19[SUP]th[/SUP] is not bad for your Junior Grand Prix debut. Especially when you consider that his overall score of 128.43 was over 10 points more than the guy directly below him (Irakli MAYSURADZE, who had a disasterous FS with SIX falls

), and just 3.31 behind the guy in 17th (Taichiro YAMAKUMA).
And Josh B will not have to wait long to attempt to improve on that. His next competition will be the last Junior Grand Prix, the Croatia Cup in Zagreb. The SP will be in 3 days time, on Thursday afternoon.
But, until then, this thread will be reverting back to it’s normal conversation, as the penultimate episode of “Ice Stars” will be broadcast tomorrow.
WELL DONE JOSH B!!!
