Can Mao get 200.00?

Ok what do you think would be a bigger accoplishment for little Mighty Mao? A gold in the women's field or a top six finish in the men's field.

A top six in men's. She could be the Michelle Wie of figure skating (only Michelle Wie never made a top six).

let's see, she's 61 now...so if I get the math right she'll need 139...she needs to be out of this world good plus land that 3A. Still not sure whether it'll be that high though. I think Ando might actually have a better shot at 200  with that quad

Miki last landed that quad in competition when she was 14. That was more than 4 years ago. She has a quad the way Jeff Buttle has a quad.

I dunno, I think either Ando will land that quad or Mao will land that 3A...what if both happen??? but I think one of the two will happen...but dunno...

Mao has a 70% chance of landing a 3A. Miki has maybe a 5% chance of landing the quad in competition (even in practice, she falls on most of her tries).

I think Mao has a better chance of landing a quad in competitioin than Miki.

Mao is capable of scoring 210. There is no doubt whatsoever in her potential with her current abilities to reach that score. Her free program even left alot of points lost to what it could have been. Yu-Na Kim can easily go over 200, I am not quite in total certainty she has the jump value in the free program performance to reach 210 however. Miki Ando's Worlds performances are probably close to the best she could ever manage, and still fell well short of 200. Whether she or Meissner can crack 200 is debatable at best. Mao can do it with ease, and is capable of breaking 210 I believe. Kim can atleast reach the thread titles number with ease if she puts together the total sum of her capacity at the moment.

When they change the rules about the 3A in the short program, she can do 3A (7.50) for her Axel jump, 3A+3Lo (12.50) for her combo, and 4Lo out of footwork (10.00) for her solo jump.

That would be a monster of a program even if she falls in it. Just don't underotate any; that will kill her score.

Hehe, two Triple Axles aren't allowed for the SP. And despite her amazing abilities, I REALLY doubt she could do a 3Loop off of a 3Axle.

But 3A, 3Flip/3Loop, and 4Loop would still be more points than any SP a male has ever acheived! Although a Quad out of footwork.... . Still pretty unrealistic.

Hopefully the only change to her SP will be doing the 3Axle out of footwork instead of 3Lutz. For her LP should could do this:

3Axle/3Toe
4Loop
3Axle
------ (halfway point)
3Flip/3Loop
3Lutz
3Sal
3Lutz/2Loop/2Loop

Which is completely insane. I would fall on my face if she pulled it off.

Although, is a double axle required in the LP for ladies as well? I'm thinking it must be since any women who has ever done a 3Axle still had a 2Axle in their long program as well. If that's the case, I guess keep the 3Sal out of Mao's program for a 2Axle.

I think the rules for the LP just say that one of the passes must be an "Axel jump." I don't think a double Axel is specifically required. Sometimes skaters end up doing two solo double Axels simply because they used up all their Zayak options doing two triple-triples.

Two-Jump Talullah, the 2014 Olympic champion, decided to cut straight to the chase. She never bothered to learn the toe-loop, Salchow, flip or Lutz. Here is her winning program:

4 loop
3 loop + 3 loop
3A
------------
3A+2Lo+2Lo
2A+2Lo
2A
2A

That's 51.59 base points for jumps. :)

K, thought so. Just wasn't sure.

You have no idea how hard I laughed at this.

All hail Two-Jump Talullah!

Mao told the media that she is practicing quad loop and quad toe.She wants to put it into her routine.

If Mao still want to be competitive until age of 25.She should take care of her body.Land all those triple axel jump consistently and improve her artistry.

I think she can definitely score 210. At Worlds she still left alot of points on the table in the free program, she definitely can score 140ish. The short she can probably score 70ish.

She has to nail 3toe and 3S first instead of bragging about quads. I'm starting to worry about her. At Japan open, her 3T was downgraded again, together with 3A.

If her 3A becomes less consistent in the future, she really has limited choices of triples.
