Canad Crazy For Clarkson...

American Idol star Kelly Clarkson made an appearance on Canadian Idol to give the final five advice and she also sang a couple of tunes the following evening. Not bad. I guess of all the Idols to win Kelly has been the most successful and popular. One wonders would she have made it in the music industry without the Idol show?

she had been turned down for being too fat and 'not what they were looking for' had it not been for Idol she'd never have made it through the door. the industry loved her voice and not her look

you can tell that the industry got their way - she looks NOTHING like the girl America fell in love with


as for being the most successful / Popular... nope - that goes to Carrie Underwood... she's won more awards and gotten more numbers wise.... though I would argue that they're pretty much tied...

but it's not like I'm keeping up with it at all

That's typical - Canada's Jan Arden - went down to the US after her hit "Insensitive" and was told to slim down if she wants to make it in the US music industry. Jan packed her bags and headed back home to Canada - where she is accepted for her great voice and musical writing talents. Jan is doing just fine here at home. Oh one other thing - Jan did not need Canadian Idol to launch her career.

As for Kelly - well I think a lot of it is hype. Her voice is okay, not great. Same with Carrie. In fact, Kelly sounded a little flat the other night on Canadian Idol. I don't get what all the fuss is about.
