fair enough...but my comment is simply a response to someone who came into a very objective conversation about statistics to bring in smokes and mirrors analysis and complain when a few of us told him it wasn't objectively valid...this conversation was fine until statistics were used to make statements that didn't make sense... it's normal that it's frustrating for some of us...
Whoa, no need to point fingers. :)

As long as you aren't being a Forum Vulture (which you aren't), I will raise no further objections. :laugh2:

hehe... i have never heard that expression (F V) but it sounds awful ;) i don't want to be one of them ;) i think we are all just a bit too excited about this year's line up ;)

Hehe, good. An FV is a nickname I made up for people who gang up on another poster because they object to something they said and proceed to bash everything that poster says until they get what they want (apology, etc.). Glad to hear you don't want to be one! :laugh2:

hehe... nah... i think many people have different views on things.. and that's fine...just read your location hahahaahahahaha funny :

Yuzu practically has 3 quads

But that quad sal . . .

Remember dasani's data doesn't include pops. Yuzu popped it both at Worlds and at NHK last year. So his success rate is lower than it appears on the table--which is already only 35%. (I'm sure Javi's is lower as well. At least I remember him popping his at the Olympics).

But he got better with it last season comparing to previous ones. Yes, he popped it at worlds and NHK and fell at CoC, but he landed it at the GPF and WTT. Which means 2 out of 5, so 40%. That's actually better than his 4T was last season...(and also better than Javiers 4S was both programs considered, and not much worse than DTens 4T both programs considered) :slink:

I think his 4S should be much better this season if he is well trained. It got already better last season at GPF and WTT

Correct me if I am wrong but as much as I recall Yuzuru had to make the intros to his jumps easier than he previously planned to ensure higher succes at landing because if his physical condition and lack of training. This season he tries to kill it both on difficult base and difficult intros. So I do not expect him to make his jumps succes rate higher than it was, luckily a bit higher. And if taking into account a different system of falls assessments this season who knows what his final score might be. I don't expect it to skyrocket to be honest.

well it comes with other insane predictions... like two american ladies on the podium...or V/T do not medal at all... I wouldn't worry about any of these predictions... entertainment purposes only ;)

I was thinking about the exact same thing  come on the American ladies are great but I don't see them getting ahead of Mao and the Russian ladies this season. Gracie winning the World title with Liza and Mao there? V/T not medalling? It would be less crazy to say their dominance isn't certain with D/R and S/H...
HOWEVER I actually think that prediciting Patrick will win another title is not crazy at all. He's certainly one of the favorites, I just think he's going to have to 1. skate very well in order to do so, or 2. If he doesn't skate very well, the rest of the guys would have to make a lot of mistakes. What did surprise me was the prediction of Han medalling at Worlds, which two (out of the top 4) would that person place off the podium?

Why the two other guys who might knock Patrick off it, of course. LOL. (If we don't mention them in our predictions, then they don't really exist. Right?).

Chan vs Hanyu Round 2 : Expression

Who gets your vote in this category?? :points:

Maybe this is more for the Fan Fest, but hey surely we can have some fun over here too?!

I predict in the 2015-16 season Hanyu will be consistent in executing cutesy expressions (along with his Pooh sidekick); while Chan, coming back with a more relaxed mentality could potentially surprise us with some creative expressions @ the K&C.

It's hard to say. Chan is more expressive with his body and skating movements, neither do I find particularly strong at emoting but I'm okay with that if they use their body to express music.

It's a new season, but Hanyu's 4S is less consistent than Chan's 3A. Already Nam Nguyen has 4 successful quad salchow attempts to Hanyu's 5.

I'd wager Hanyu is much more consistent with his 4S than last season, but he hasn't exactly shown a ton of confidence with it -- even a couple of his clean attempts have been forward or eked out. But it's certainly worth the gamble.

His two latest clean attempts did get GOE of 2.57 (15 WTT) and 2.43 (14 GPF), so I wouldn't exactly call that a.... gamble ....
I do hope he will increase his consistency in the 4S. He did mention his 4S success rate has a lot to do with the coordination of his entrance to the timing of the music. Here's hoping he can find that perfect timing with SEIMEI this season.:cheer:

oh i still want patrick to win… but i thought that overall the predictions were…. a bit odd ;)
