I'd love to see Max Aaron skate to Springsteen's Born to Run.

And Johnny Weir has to skate to Raise You Up.from Kinky Boots!

I'm amazed that I haven't seen any skaters planning to use Jeff Buckley's version of "Hallelujah" this season. I figured it would become the new Carmen, now that lyrics are allowed. I'd love to see Mao take that on; she's so good with gentle, lyrical music. Carolina, too. Of current competitive skaters, So-Youn Park could probably do a lovely job with it.

This is a really out-there suggestion and it doesn't have lyrics, but I'd love to see a skater tackle "Just Like You Imagined" by Nine Inch Nails. It's such a compelling, dramatic piece of music that has built-in crescendos and flourishes that are just begging for jumps, spins, spread eagles/Ina Bauers, etc. I think it'd be perfect for someone like Daisuke (I can practically see the step sequence in my head) or possibly Stephane, but I can't think of too many current skaters who could do it. Maybe Max? Ashley Wagner has enough fire for it, too.

^ I'd prefer a break from Skyfalls, they have been featured quite a bit of late, as well as Someone Like You. JMO :)

Let's say I can choose just one song - then I'd love
- for a lady to skate to What a Feeling (that song was just made to be skated to, it has perfect moments for a step sequence, for jumps, so why is noone choosing it? )
- for a dance couple to skate to All the Right Moves, such a ballroom tune. Especially as an exhibition, full with masquerade costumes that reminiscent of the song's video. Or just about anything from Saturday Night Fever, say, Manhattan Skyline or Disco Inferno... great soundtrack for skating to modern music. A guy skating to this soundtrack would be awesome too.

There's actually a dance team doing "Saturday Night Fever" FD this season, but I can't remember who it is!

I'm new so of course I'm not going to know all of the programs, but that's cool. However, since then they were only used for exhibitions, it will be very interesting to see them for competitive programs.

First of all, I never expected you to know all programs.:) A few of those were used for competitions: Bobek, Wylie, and Sato. Also, sorry to break it to you, but I doubt with the amount of things that have come out since, that you will see these songs ever in "new" competitive mode.

What do you mean by "new" competitive mode?

I feel like some songs could. You never know.

I didn't say that they can't be used. I just said it's highly unlikely.

I know. And you're right. With TONS and TONS of songs out there....well it makes it more interesting for a song to be picked out for a program.

Sorry if that didn't make sense. LOL It's getting late.

Tom Waits: Heartattack and Vine, Alice. The latter song's lyrics are actually about ice skating, and Alice Liddell.

A classic:
Velvet Underground: Sunday Morning. Maybe avoid the "...and I'm falling" bit.

Franz Ferdinand: Take Me Out

I'd love to see a Free Dance performed to This Is Hardcore by Pulp and inspired by the film noir atmosphere of the video.
Maybe Papadakis/Cizeron? I understand, though, that the lyrics are, well, very explicit, so it's not likely to have it performed as a competitive program.

Thus, I'll end my list with a family-friendly choice: how about a Pairs program set to This is my Idea from the movie Swan Princess?

Does anyone remember that movie " American Anthem ? " It starred Mitch Gaylord and Wayne Gretzky's wife, Janet Jones. There was some interesting music that could be spliced together to make a great LP. It's very powerful and something I could see Max skating to.
