That's great! I only hope that Lambiel will be able to teach him quads as he does not really approve of them. I myself don't care about quads (at least The Four Seasons programme was fabulous without any!) But he has to.
but neither would be practical at all. :sad21:
That's a good idea about birthday. We talked about Christmas cards but forgot about his birthday! Maybe Jelena was thinking about the opportunity to hand the letters personally to him (he will probably be back home for Christmas, but maybe not for his birthday) but she did say she will keep the POBox open and letters will be welcome any time. I will mention about birthday anyway, maybe we can still plan something special!Thank you for the translation. And I love hearing his voice, even tho I can't understand him! Fun to see him receiving our letters and cards! What a great idea. I'd love to do that again - maybe for his birthday? I just checked and saw his birthday is coming up -- August 9.
I am afraid I don’t understand everything, but I am sure that there is somebody who can provide literary translation.
Generally speaking, Deniss was interviewed in his home city, Daugavpils, where he came to pass all the exams needed to complete the 12th school year.
Deniss and his mother went to the city hall of Daugavpils to talk about a sponsorship as he need a deliberate sum of money for training in Switzerland. The man interviewed at some point of the feature is a city hall representative who confirms that the city is going to support Deniss.
As Deniss is a part of a Latvian Olympic team, he gets financial help from this source, as there is no couch in Latvia he can be trained by.
He says he is very happy that he decided to move from Sochi to Switzerland. Surely he has been making a huge progress thanks to Stephane Lambiel.
Confirming that he has been training quads (because they are crucial to be on the top) he underlines that that cannot be made at the expense of other parts of a performance, so he has been developing them all at the same time.
And finally he thanks to all the supporters, fans, teachers at his Russian high school etc.

Yes,that's exactly what Deniss is saying about Stephane. I only want to add that Deniss especially stresses he learns a lot every day, he finds new ways how to perfect himself about which he could't even imagine. He hopes to reach the highest goals under Stephane's guidance-to win medals, even at Olympics. It means they really have fantastic relationship and it gives a lot of benefit to both of them.
He will be 18 on August 9. It means that Stephane doesn't have a kid anymore, but a very handsome young man. He matures physically and as a personality just under our eyes. That's great!!
for the translations! I appreciate so much that Deniss is focusing on the whole performance and not just quads. I expected this, given what he and Stephane value in figure skating, but it's great to hear Deniss say it. And it's absolutely wonderful that he's so passionate about learning every day and finds so much satisfaction in that process. All the best to him next season and beyond!
