Daria Danilova and Michel Tsiba will compete in Georgia next weekend from 8-11 October at the Trialeti Trophy (a Challenger). They're the only Dutch competitors at that particular competition.
At the JGP in Abu Dhabi 8-11 October (the last JGP except for the final this season) Angel Delavaque will compete in the Women's discipline. Kahlan Gooijer is still the substitute. Lucca Dijkhuizen was a substitute as well in the list earlier on, but no longer as she has already competed twice.
No Dutchies at Tayside Trophy (GBR) this year, alas!

Unfortunately Daria and Michel got the lowest score so far for their SP at Trialeti Trophy, a 55.20

And the bad news don't end there...they WD before the free due to medical reasons. This sucks so much for them

Apparently Michel has a shoulder injury. Good news for them is that given the circumstances, this event WON'T count for them. They now have NHK and Golden Spin to qualify.

After the unhappiness relating to Daria and Michel, combined with some positiveness (injury, but competition won't count for their Olympic mission), it's nice to hear Julia van Dijk really is on an improvement tour. She skated at Diamond Spin in Poland this week and ended in 6th place. As far as I understand it, she improved on her PBs in both the SP and the FS (even if they don't count as such). I am very pleased for her. Well done!

There's going to be a competition in Iceland this weekend starting the 30th of October (Northern Lights Trophy) where only single skaters can take part. Nothing odd there, but the fact that it's only women's singles, is. No men at all.
Julia van Dijk is scheduled to take part in the sr bit, Roos Harkema and Jazlynn Hopper in jrs. No Dutch girls in adv. novice.

Sadly, at Northern Lights Trophy Julia van Dijk had to withdraw after the SP, due to a lot of pain in the foot during practice. She stood first after the SP with 46.52 points but health comes first! Especially after her injuries last seasons, it is good to take care. Well done in the SP in any case! 
Roos Harkema got a bronze medal
in the junior portion of this competiton with 105.14 points while Jazlynn Höppener ended in 7th place. Well done girls!

NHK Trophy week - which means Daria and Michel are back on the ice! Let's wish them the best of luck so they can break the score the Dutch Olympic fed would like them to get!

Daria and Michel are in Japan. They are trying to enjoy their being there (both Daria and Michel love competing in Japan) but in the back of their minds, there still is the challenge to get enough points so that the Dutch Olympic Committee will be satisfied. Michel's shoulder is fully healed, and in his words: they've gotten some more leverage on their two programmes. I certainly hope so.

I felt so sorry for Daria and Michel this weekend at NHK Trophy. Did the pressure to get a certain number of points get to them? I certainly am not in favour of this additional qualification round (they earned their OG spot at World's in Boston) but the number required in ietself is not unattainable or impossible. As Michel said: it's not so much the number of points, they've got those before, it's the pressure to attain them now, to be able to do what they have been working for all these years.

I mean, Germany did that too, our teams had to achieve a certain amount of points...but it's not like "You'll have to do it at competition X or at competition Y or you're out" - they've got the complete first half of the season until Nationals.
