she is 16.. the girls rarely grow too much after this age... I don't think she is taller than 1,63 m

I'm not saying it happens every time, but girls, when they are elite athletes, commonly continue to grow until the age of 20 and beyond.

Mao had her final growth spurt when she was 19-years-old (Vancouver year), and this was only height-wise. And then her shoulder blades and pelvic bone grew out a little, when she was 21~22-years-old. Same with Mirai. Mirai was 18-years-old at Vancouver, and if you compare how she looks now to how she looked after Vancouver, I think it is safe to think that she only reached maturity when she was 21~22. I think Mirai is still battling the effects of puberty on her jumps. If you look at how Carolina Kostner looked at 2006 Torino, I think she was 19-years-old, again, you can tell her body had not fully developed (sideways, in terms of shoulder blades and pelvis), and maybe only when she was 21~22, did she come to look like she does now.

So it's really common for female skaters to battle body changes until they are 21~22-years-old.

So, you can never tell, but Elena's arms and legs are still very, very looooong in the way that only children's arms and legs can be, so I wouldn't be surprised if she continues to grow for another 3~4 years. Of course, this doesn't mean she won't turn out to be a great skater.

I didn't say Elena's body won't change. It is going to change very much! I said that is not sure she will be much more TALLER. Maybe she will be 164-165 cm as Yuna, I think that is very good for female figure skaters.
For me the taller skaters and dancers look much more elegant on ice or on the stage. But Carolina is a little bit too tall for my taste. It's like the muscles of the men. I like the muscles of the runners and jumpers but I don't like them if those are on figure skaters. (I know the pair skaters need the muscles) But this is really a personal taste, and this is not defines the skaters greatness.

It's good that it is impossible to determine weight by photos. Otherwise we all would discuss so much )))

Well, that looks interesting:)

Can't wait to see the new programs!! I read that the open test skates are at the second weekend in september, so I think we'll see the new stuff then. There's no news about her competing in any pre-GP competitions yet, is there?

Well that's one way to get good GOE on your 3-3. Climb on over the judges table and input the scores yourself.

Two more off-ice photos from Novogorsk...
