This is great to hear Sandra is choreographing again. She had stopped because she wanted to avoid conflict (she was an NBC commentator) but also cause she didn’t care for COP. It’s great the Zhenya is part of her comeback!

Her program for Chen Lu, Butterfly Lovers is among my faves.

Same here. This will all be brand-new, like her beautiful, custom skates!
I love Libertango, but I wasn't feeling it with Mumuki, especially the beginning. I guess if they snip a bit of the middle portion of it to use and then blend that into Libertango (I'd use all of Libertango), it will be smooth and fairly seamless. I'm sure it will be fine once we see the finished product. I'm so excited! :hap93:

So, we finally have her music choices. I have to confess: It will take me some time to warm up to the tango. I don‘t know, I just don‘t like this music and I can‘t see Zhenya do it. But that‘s even better because then she can surprise me!

I‘m still sad that we don‘t get the Memory FP or at least any kind of lyrical FP... But as long she‘s happy and it shows on the ice I can live with it. I mean, that‘s what everybody wanted: for her to try something new. I was perfectly fine with her previous music choices but I guess it‘ll be nice to see the brandnew ‘Toronto-Zhenya‘

As for the FP... I dunno, I have nothing against tango but I don't see it being very suitable for her. Plus, Satoko is also doing tango!

Like Fluture, I'd like to see her skating to something lyrical in the FP, mainly because it plays to her strengths and it wouldn't scare away old fans too much...

3F-3Lo in the short program means that for it to be worth it, she would do a solo lutz. So the edge needs to be fixed first.

Oh dear, I always forget about that stupid lutz My fault, then. So yeah, that makes it pretty unlikely she‘ll change her SP layout this season.

i think i’m more cautiously optimistic about both programs lol. on one hand i’m glad she’s trying out new music choices that are very different from her previous ones, but i’m also wondering how well she’ll sell the programs. DW chores isn’t my favorite, but he has created some masterpieces with some skaters. hopefully zhenya’s fs is one of them, bc i’ve been secretly praying to see her do a tango one day. [emoji16]

She can actually do a combo but it‘s most likely not going to be one with an axel. The double axel is (aside from the lutz) her weakest jump and usually I don‘t like her combos with it. But to this music I could imagine it. For the short program she‘s always used the 3F-3T combo as she‘s most comfortable with it and it earns her the most points from all the combos she can comfortably do. Maybe she’ll have a change next season and she might add a loop combo, something like 3F-3Lo but we‘ll see. Loop combos generally are more difficult but they earn more points (her lutz-loop combo + backloading was why Alina won over Evgenia at the OG) Sorry if I‘m explaining something you already know here, though. Oops[emoji28]

Oh no not at all it was useful to read. [emoji4] I’m still learning all the different jumps and combos, what they look like and what Zhenya incorporates into her programs. Thankfully Zhenya is already working on improving her lutz (which I never realised was an issue until recently) and I can imagine the double axel is also on the to-do list.

It’s been fun to watch it all unfold after the OG. She must of read our comments about her fs because she’s finally revealed what it is! [emoji23] I was hoping for something like her memory ex but I’m excited about something fresh for her like a tango. I’m excited for the new season! [emoji4]

I’m still feeling over the moon with Zhenya’s choices [emoji7][emoji7] Especially the tango FP makes me crazy cause in ice dancing we have tango as a rhythm dance and with Gabby/Guillaume and Satoko I’m curious to see how Zhenya will present tango to us [emoji1374]

Haha that's great! I'm excited to see what her tango is going to be like! As its a free skate as well we're getting a full tango compared to a shorter one if it was a short program. [emoji4]

It's the old Brigitte Bardot EX. It's alright. Weird that they blocked Instagram. Usually it's YouTube that blocks locations.

I LOVE the music for the fp. Especially libertango, I think its "epicness" matches so well with her. I'm really excited about it. On the other hand, I don't like Orange Coloured Sky at all lol. I might have to listen to it 100 more times to start liking it.
