Working in the studio was amazing, he was a little bit nervous but the recording was finished quicker than he had thought, everything went well. He loves Victor and Yuuri, he thinks the relationship between them is wonderful, watching them working together and encouraging each other gives him inspiration. Not only figure skating fans but also the skaters themselves are feeling inspiration, and people who were not be interested in skating at all also has the chance to know the sport because of this anime.

I'm looking forward to hearing his Japanese lines!

After this week's finale, we can all give our weak hearts a nice rest from all the fan service...before gorging our souls on Christmas Day with food, and alcohol on New Years. 😂

You mean, biting our nails watching Russian and/or Japanese Nationals?

Pretty sure you can't call it fanservice any more when it's a full-fledged relationship...

Man this is been a really great series. I really hope they give this another season. All the little details they inserted in from the figure skating world. The fully develop characters. Captivating story line. The romance of course. It's just been so much fun.

I just require some protocols next year. Right after the competition they post the protocols just like ISU and other Feds would any other competition. That's all I ask.

Yeah, it's really been great. I've been having a blast pointing out all the real-life references and skating discourse to some fans (educating a lot of folks!) and just enjoying the story in general.
The development of the characters has been steady and there wasn't the tired old romance drama ("but I'm not gay???!?" "a kiss fixes Anxiety" "random love rival/ex-lover comes to town"). As a baby anime studio, MAPPA was really ambitious tackling this kind of project - but their past anime works have been pretty experimental as it is, so it makes sense. I cry thinking of the possibilities if they had gotten the budget in the beginning to make this into a 24 episode anime.

It's been a runaway hit this anime season. I'm sure if fans make a big-enough racket they'll make and post protocols if there's a second season. After all, they did make an actual YOI Instagram account to post the pictures from the in-series Instagram character accounts!

The synopsis is finally out

“Let’s end this.” Yuri triggers these words, causing him to fall into an extremely bad condition on the day of his Free Skate program. Since this will be the last tournament for the two and the most difficult, will Yuri still skate about his love towards Victor? What conclusions will come out of this?/

Considering the popularity, chances of season 2 are pretty big. Of course, that in itself is not a guarantee of it but since the author seems interested, it seems likely. I am not sure if it'd be about Victor and Yuuri as a skater though, we'll know more later today!

In regards to that, Kubo-sensei has asked the fans to watch through to the end and pay special attention to Victor's decision about his career.

Oh my, I can't wait! I finally want to see the story resolved, but I don't want it to end!

Well it aired and ...

don't get too into skating scores. Just don't.
Yurio wins. Yuuri second.
He continues with Victor as his coach and maybe as a competitive skater too? Not sure.

I kind of did not like this. At all.

Waiting for crunchyroll....... but saw the scores anyway.... :scratch2:

I guess it makes a lot of sense for season 2 that way...

WHAT OH MY WHAT AA;LKGJALEK;HJ

WTH wih Yurio winning, like, seriously NOW you decide falls aren't fatal errors and we'll get more real with the scoring?! All season you've been carrying on like a fall is a totally fatal error and giving us stupid things like Phichit overhauling Yuuri at CoC and NOW you make it so that the lead after the SP matters and a fall isn't fatal?! WHAT THE ACTUAL HECK?!

And don't get me started on JJ going over 300 and Otabek finishing off hte podium.

AND LIKE MY FEELINGS WHAT THE HECK

I'm glad Yuuri is going to continue but what the actual heck Victor, how do you plan to coach and comeback at the same time (I guess that's the plot for next season), AND ARE YOU KIDDING ME RUSSIAN NATIONALS IS LIKE TWO WEEKS AFTER GPF HOW DO YOU EXPECT TO BE READY. Also like wth Victor why would you ask Yakov? How are you going to coach Yuuri in Japan if Yakov is coaching you in Russia?

I loved the little discussion after they were off the ice after the podium ceremony, that was just too cute. AND THE DUET IN THE GALA, OH MY GOD I'M DYING. So they didn't actually talk about the love side of things but it was pretty obvious in the gala skate.

IDK though I felt like as a season finale it was a little...weak? They tried to cram too much into 24 minutes. Really, the last episode needed to be an hour.

Now I have to go to work. I will attempt to process this at some point during the day.

.

They are all in Russia. At the end on that bridge, Victor, J-Yuri and R-Yuri so .... I don't know. Yakov coaches them all or Yakov coaches Victor and R-Yuri and Victor coaches J-Yuri? But they will all be in Russia.
Which I find supremely dumb, I'll be honest. That cannot work, in any way. Yuuri cannot beat Victor ... except nothing about skating is even remotely logical in this anime :confused2: So much for the GPF is so important that we'll bang on about it for 10 episodes, building it up to high heaven and then we'll make you lose it. Just because. Oh and now you're against Victor so good luck with that gold when you can't even beat a 16yo kid.

And I kind of don't like the no discussion thing at all between Victor and Yuuri. Sure, the duet was awesome but tbh, it kind of feels a little bait-y now to me. Meh. I really needed something that isn't have a ring but it's a good luck charm and hide the kiss and oh lol no gold, no kiss. Yes, it's obvious but at the same time, meh.

Maybe I just expected too much but I got very little out of this. It felt like they tried to resolve too much, with not enough time and then they sort of tried to keep it open for season 2 as well and it all felt forced to me.
