I don't disagree with the sentiment - and as an extra, many many kids in many sports have been inspired by their heroes turning up for a day to coach, whether they are there or see it online - but he is rather cavalier with the money of an organisation that, as I understand it, is pretty skint...

That’s cute of him to suggest that. Now show parents the price tag of raising an elite skater, and tell them figure skating is for them.

The line of saying USFSA should subsidize widespread national classes is silly, but rinks offering more opportunities and trying to do more community outreach is something that could be happening.

And coaches not charging outrageous fees.

Maybe if they didn’t charge $1000 for the opportunity to purchase a $125 breakfast ticket they’d be less skint. They’re getting no more money from me. 🤷‍♀️
