Gracie Gold

I'm so sad to see how harsh she is on herself. I think taking a mentality like Ashley's might be good for her, stop focusing on the title or the medals. Gracie is technically one of the best skaters in the world, she should focus just on skating the best she can-like one of the best in the world. Results will follow. I hope she can take some time this summer to really find what she loves about skating and competing.

Its so disheartening for Gracie to be putting herself down so much.
Gracie might not of performed to her potential but by no means should she feel that she embarrassed for representing her nation.

Apart from the initial fall, her FS program was not that good, maybe the choreography because was soul-less to me.
They gave her too many points in her SP.

She is full of talent, but something is missing. I was disappointed she didn't do well last night, but I found it unnecessary that she needed to apologize to my country. That bothers me more. I didn't like Midori Ito doing the same back in 1992 with her country. Kristi Yamaguchi clearly won the Olympic gold medal that year.

I think she should step back and get some perspective- it wasn't her best but she was 4th in what was probably the best skated ladies event of all time. There is nothing to be ashamed about.

Gracie showed up with a pretty face and a bucket full of talent right when the US needed a new ladies star. She was handed the due bill for years of disappointing results by American ladies. That was so unfair, and I can't imagine the crushing pressure she must have felt.

Gracie would benefit from reduced expectations. At least now she won't be asked every thirty seconds if she's going to end "the drought" at World's. Now if some of the younger skaters would make a little noise and redirect the attention of the press, the fans, etc., Gracie might be able to relax and just skate.

All the hype since 2012 when Gracie was still a Junior has played mind games with this girl. She needs to realize that she doesn't need to win every time out and that she isn't letting anyone down when she doesn't win. She still seems to lack confidence considering when she was interviewed shortly after the event she said that she doesn't think she's good enough. The only one stopping Gracie from winning is Gracie not the Russians or Japanese. You can't pop your 3lutz at a competition that was at as high a level as i've ever seen for a Ladies LP at Worlds and it cost her the Bronze medal.

In terms of talent, Gracie is the best female U.S. figure skater right now. I believe she will eventually get the mental part figured out and end up on the world podium. I agree that a lot of pressure as been put on her by the federation, but there has also been a lot of hate from fools on the Internet. She needs to ignore all of it, but it's gotta be tough when that is the way your generation communicates.

We love Gracie Gold and we had the privilege of interviewing her at the Stars on Ice premiere show in Hershey PA last week. We talked about lots of fun and silly stuff and of course skating! You can check it out http://thehesaidshesaidexperience.com/2016/04/gracie-gold-interview/ and there are more pictures of her in our review of the Stars on Ice tour too http://thehesaidshesaidexperience.com/2016/04/gracie-gold-interview/. She was an absolute doll! Our toddler is now totally smitten with her and yells to watch "Go Gol" skate! :)

I hope for a competitive program, something different from Lori's style.
