What a great show, we are still on cloud 9. IM got very good applause. Daughter got pics with Ilia and Nathan (our faves) and was super thrilled at the meet & greet. (see more on the SOI thread. ) Ilia was great in his routines. She gave Ilia a special bear with the custom made teeshirt that said quad god on it. My daughter said he beamed and then proceeded to show it to another skater, lol.

So my show happened. I think I finally have fully warmed up to the Euphoria FP after seeing it in person. He was rocking it out. Now to talk about the M&G. Honestly, I think I was a little nervous (Okay, I was a little nervous lol). I gave Ilia the hat I made and told him I knitted his name in English and Cyrillic. And he showed Isabeau it. She was impressed with it as well. I then told him he couldn't wash the hat in the washing machine or put it in the dryer or else it'll shrink and never stretch out again. I pulled up a hat of mine I knitted with the same yarn that unfortunately got washed in the washer to show as an example. And he laughed about it. I told him I created the fan fest and that I'm from the same county as him. I could have worded some of it a bit better and I wish I said more (Like asking him why the heck he liked physics so much), but I was a bit nervous and I wanted to get through the line as quick as I could in a way because 1. I didn't want to hold it up because I was much closer to the front than I was to the back. And 2. I didn't want to get home so late.

But overall, I enjoyed seeing him skate and I'm happy I got to give him the hat.

I hope he did. I’m still a bit kicking myself that I didn’t exactly word some of the things I said as well as I should and that I didn’t ask him why the heck he liked physics so much. Maybe next year if if does it again next year and if there’s a show close enough. My friends enjoyed it thoroughly and said they would go with me again.
 
Sooooo...Ilia is performing at a local show this Saturday, June 10. It's called Ice on Fire. It's a collaboration with the Loudoun Symphony Orchestra. He, Gracie Gold, and Keegan Messing will be performing as well as some other skaters. Now, I had no idea about this event until this past weekend after I went to Stars On Ice in Baltimore. I found out about the show by accident. I was scrolling through Facebook and I came across a sponsored post from the orchestra. And I was immediately intrigued. I'm close enough that I would be incredibly stupid to pass up on the opportunity to see more skating. So, I'm going with my parents as an early birthday gift to myself.

To be honest, I was a little nervous when I saw this event because I really haven't heard about it until last weekend even though according to ION's Facebook group, they've been posting about it for a few weeks now. They have not done the best of job on advertising to put it lightly. I could have missed it if I didn't randomly scroll on Facebook that day. I was nervous that it was too good to be true. But it is for real.

 
Alright. Back from the show that was in Leesburg. I will say it was not as polished as an overall show like Stars On Ice was. Ilia skated to "Chariots on Fire" and he was great. My parents thought he was great. Gracie Gold, Keegan Messing, Lorraine McNamara/Anton Spiridonov, some other skaters, and some of the freestyle and theater on ice teams skated there. So there were quite a bit of amateur skaters on there. The youngest couldn't have been any older than 5 years old. And of course better than I'll ever be on the ice lol.

There were some wait times when the skaters skated cause they didn't start immediately at the start of the songs. Me not being a classical music fan, I had no idea that the Firebird Suite was 22 minutes long....which explained why it took forever for skating to start to it. But it was a nice event. Ion arena is very nice. It's HUGE. There's one section that's specifically an arena and there's another section where there's another ice rink for hockey and other stuff. So the doors technically opened at 5:00, but that was for the arena area. Before I went into that section, I sat on some tables and chairs. Ilia and Keegan came through the doors and I was a bit...starstruck? Is that the right word. I was thinking, "Oh my gosh." No, I didn't say anything to them because they weren't standing around a specific area for a long enough time and I didn't want to bother them. Overall, great night.

Also it’s funny that Ilia and others laid down to have Keegan do a backflip over them. Almost 9 years ago, me and 5 of my teammates from college cheer stood in a line bent over and a dude did a running front flip over us. This was at my college’s midnight madness.

Finishing SOI just a week ago, Ilia must be tired but he did a great job entertaining the audience.
The local orchestra, Loudoun Symphony Orchestra, was really good, too.

The organizer did not tell us it's OK or not OK to take clips, so I just keep them "unlisted (those who know the link can watch)" for my YouTube channel for now. Please DO NOT RE-POST THESE LINKS for other places. Thanks!
