I love the way the crowd was cheering so much not just when he landed the 4A, but at the end of the program. Great stuff.
I didn't realize he was the youngest to win Skate America. Good for him.

I live in the Boston area (about 40 miles from Norwood) so I'm extra glad he landed the 4A here tonight.

I am still pumped from yesterday. Just was so fun to see Malinin ace it. Between 4A and that 3Lz+3A I just enjoyed it so much and his super-fun boyish bluster and ardor. I know people knock down this program, but honestly, I just can’t watch it without a huge grin, because I am 100% sure he is trolling with how easily he jumps and his step sequences also emphasizes that 🙌

I wonder if SkAm has a gala, because I really want to see him come into the rink as the champion!

His program improved since the Japan Open especially his expression and the StSq was more fluid. His next GP is the last GP so he has time to rest, relax and work on his transitions but they're pretty good right now.

I believe they do have a gala. I don't think I've seen Ilia's exhibition program so that's something to look forward to.

The SA schedule is very different than the SCI schedule. All 4 sps are on Friday and all 4 fs are on Saturday at SCI. The gala is the only Sunday event.
SA did it 2, 4, 2 + gala I guess to get more attendance at the gala? Not sure.

I am not sure. Maybe their arena had problems with booking or they wanted Friday to be an after work event. I kindda don’t like spending the whole morning of Sunday twiddling my thumbs in Mississauga either, so maybe it’s a better way.
 
So Ilia did an interview for our local CBS station. I'll post it if the link comes up. I literally said "Ilia!!!!" a teensy bit loud lol. It aired twice today. Once before 6 (Missed it), and once during the 11:00 news (Saw it).

P.S. I accidentally posted this on a completely unrelated forum thread in "The Edge" before I realized it wasn't Ilia's fan fest. Lol oops.

So the Washington Capitals are sending some influencers/people that are notable/celebs/ones that have a following/whatever merch boxes of the reverse retro gear. And Ilia was one of those who got them. It's on his Insta story. Which btw, he changed his insta handle to @ilia_quadg0d_malinin.

Okay, so Ilia is 2nd after the SP. Over 3 points behind Kevin Amoyz. Lost 5-6 points in TES (Which I was confused on how both the 4T and 3T were q, but I'm not an expert). If he medals, he's in the GPF.
