YAY GABBY! Wonderful also about Deniss and I agree it's a good choice to send the Japanese Olympians to JO...

Deniss :hap10:

If Evgenia refuses, I think they'll invite Kostner

I think Russian fed, Medvedeva herself, Orser (not Borser) will do their best to not let her compete at the same competition with Zagitova even in the same team. Evgeniya lost 2 big events in a roll. If Zagitova gets into shape early and has somehing like 150 vs. Medvedeva's 135 it will be a strong signal that Zagitova is the unconditional worlds' #1 at the beginning of the season. I am not sure the above-mentioned parties would like it to happen. There is also an emotional aspect of Zhenya and Alina being together again. On the other hand, if Eteri does want "blood" she would welcome this.

I also don't think that Caro would take it even if she is still competing. Her getting into shape might be tricky. She could hardly pull herself together for the free skate even when it mattered most. Now if she has a complete meltdown in Japan judges might finally stop taking her seriously.

This basically means Sotskova or Hendricks. Sotskova looks more rational - GPF podium winner and 200 point skater but there are other aspects like Japan's willingness to win it.

Any chances of Yuzuru going? Last year it was Nobu and Shoma, right?
Both Shoma and Javier are regulars, attended almost every year in the past. Dai, Mao, Nobu, Jeff and a lot of other top skaters are regulars too. Nathan will be there two years in a roll now.
looks like Yuzu is the only one among the top skaters who has never done Japan open. Maybe because Japan open is an IMG event and Yuzu is not part of it (doesn't have an agent), or maybe yuzu doesn't want to make the trip all the way from Canada to only do FS, or there're some other reason we don't know.

I think it has more to do with popularity than the IMG contract. Deniss doesn't have an IMG contract & I do not think the Russian ladies do either.

Wow, Jeremy:hap57:
I've got a ticket. No matter which Japanese men are being added, I will be happy enough because of him!

I wonder why it's taking them so long to tell the Team Japan men! Wish we could tell them to hurry up! :luv17: Shoma and (maybe, am I dreaming?) Uncle Dai?

If so, I will be more than happy; however, Dai is scheduled to be in Kinki-regional competition, Oct.5-8. and Machida is announced as a guest skater(he always perform between two groups), so who else?
