I don't think Brian has been out of line in anything he's said so far--he's hurt and he HAS been disrespected. It's one thing to have a skater terminate a relationship, but for goodness sakes' do it the right way, face to face, and not after a long summer of avoidance. It's pretty clear that over the last few weeks, he wasn't harboring any more illusions that Yu-na was going to make her own decision and stay. All that said, at this point he can probably do best for himself by going silent and focusing on his other skaters.
As for Koreans, my experience with them--on a business basis--is that they are one of the most difficult people in the world to deal with. Make that 10x difficult with Korean mamas. And yes, very cold. And ultimately what this is all about is not Yuna the Skater but Yuna the Moneymaking Machine. At least from her mother's and agent's side, since she won the Olympic Gold medal. I absolutely believe that Yuna's mother has been and is calling the key shots on how all this has played out. Brian O's interest was almost certainly in Yuna the Skater, and I think there was an irreconcilable difference in the sets of tasks and time commitments needed to develop Skater vs Moneymaking Machine. Although Brian probably is only now realizing the extent to which that gap developed over the last few months.
Sadly, my impression of Yu-na herself has diminished a little bit over all this. Asian culture and Confucian deference to parents aside, yada, yada, yada...it's the year 2010, she's nearly out of her teens, a World and Olympic champion. Time to step up to the plate, take responsibility for career and dealings with others, and stop hiding behind mommy--she needs a true, non-family impartial professional agent and manager, though I have no hope that will happen.
