Exactly, a lot of people not necessarily on this thread but elsewhere, are somehow predicting that Caroline will somehow beat Meissner. Although I did predict this too.

Don't get me wrong, Caroline's definetly prettier.

But basic skating wise, Meissner is the better skater.. And what goes on with the blades, should count for something in the PC scores.

ITA with you about Meissner being the "better skater". She's got great skating basics and it is definitely something I appreciate in a skater. Watching even lower level regional type competitions I've noticed that the skaters that place top five have speed, power, flow, stronger edges than the rest of the pack and I think that those things should be rewarded. After all it is skating.

As we all expected Hughes had both her triple lutz and triple flip downgraded in the short which is why her score was so low.
