That makes sense. In the US, lots of elite skaters represent their "home" skating club, but train at one of the major rinks with top coaches.

SOOOOOOO EXCITED to know she is going to BOrser. I think this is what she needs to continue developing her skating. I admire her ambition and her will to persevere and make the changes she needs before it becomes too late - a lot of skaters who stick around the same coach and stagnate for too long could learn something from her.

I thought she did have a fully backloaded program at the beginning of the season (at Nepala).

I believe she had 2A at the beginning and the rest of the jumps backloaded. But she never skated that layout even close to clean. Unless there was a skate I missed.

Granted, if Evgenia is going to make a move like leaving Eteri, there’s no sense in not going all-out in seeking a new coach. Go big or stay home.

Plushenko doesn't have a good standard ice rink, he said it will be ready in 2 months and his senior and junior skaters will switch to the new one. But no, he's not a good variant for her, Mishin will probably not be the option too, many say they will not find common language so to speak. Training abroad is the only great move she can make at this stage of her career. So I hope, I really do hope that Brian Orser is her new coach, not just a summer camp option.

To me Evghenia and Yuzu have very similar personalities athlete wise. So why not? Brian tries to find a key to every skater he works with.

I'm so happy this news came out on a Friday so we can spend all weekend discussing it.

I think Orser is an excellent, excellent choice. I've respected Evgenia so much for her consistency and tenacity, but been very uninterested in her actual programs. Brian's shown himself to be a strong technical coach and has access to excellent choreographers.
