Can we please not excuse Eteri’s behaviour due to her being a good coach. Yes she might be talented at getting the most out of children but that doesn’t condone her behaviour or make her actions okay. Just like how Anerica’s success in 2016 doesn’t excuse the treatment that those girls were enduring. Can we think about the teenagers and children involved cause if she says stuff like this to the press what does she do to them in training.

I‘ve been reading here for a while and I just had to comment on this because it keeps irking me. No. No. And NO! She‘s not a hypocrite skater, she‘s human. I don‘t know whether it is true what Eteri said but even if it was: it was in a moment of the probably biggest disappointment in her whole life. Zhenya is 18 years old. She has proven time and again that she is mature and classy about her rivals. She called her own fans off when they were bashing Radionova. And it‘s not like she said anything to the public it was to Eteri, a person she trusted and has known for ELEVEN years. It was in a fit of temper, she was obviously emotional. Have you never said anything you later regretted when your emotions were running high?

I just don‘t get how people can make Evgenia this hypocrite, rude skater when she‘s never been anything but classy. Whereas Eteri... I‘m not going to bash her but well, the same situation has happened with Yulia Lipnitskaya before, so... There must be some reason for it.

Julia's situation was totally different. And if we want to be honest Yulia and her mother weren't saints and Eter wasn't evil in that situation.

I used to think that she was an incredible coach, but trying to destroy a student just because she decides to leave is horrible. What is the use of building something if you are going to destroy it in this way?

I still think she needs a therapist to help her realize exactly what she's doing. Maybe she does realize, and then she needs a therapist even more. If she doesn't, that doesn't mean I'm giving her a pass or an "oh poor little Eteri doesn't know" because what she's saying is still wrong.

The screenshot only proved that Med hasn’t responded to Eteri from April but that’s all. It says nothing much about the time before that. Med has a high tolerance as she has been there in the group for 10 years. For someone so patient like her to leave it’s a big deal and there are always many sides of the stories. Just saying whatever Eteri is telling people about Med doesn’t represent Med herself.

She's leaving because she blames Eteri for not winning the OGM, simple as that. And thinks that she has better chance for the next Olympics with another coach.
I suspect that Evgenia and Orser sealed the deal during the shows in Korea. It suits the period of time when Medvedeva stopped answering to Eteri and then she left in holiday.

So my little sister called me in tears today, she was upset because she had a hard time with a few short English exercises and thus she wanted to leave home, because apparently my mother making her do homework she was supposed to do on Friday is awful and everyone is being too hard on her.

Little did I know this would turn out to NOT be the most immature thing I would hear today. This is beyond ridiculous.

Maybe Polina was discussing or unsure or something totally different and Kostornaya and others misinterpreted or didn't know the full picture. Even if it is true, and I'm starting to think it is, I wouldn't change a wikipedia page based off of Kostornaya's instagram...

It's strange cause 1-2 weeks before she was putting the short program with Daniil and Eteri.

I don’t want to discredit her success entirely. My point was moreso that I think her personal contributions are overestimated by most people here. She reminds me a lot of Abby Lee Miller. She is good at recognizing talent and being tough but she’s also crazy and has been able to outsource a lot of the important aspects of coaching.

She has been an abusive crazy person and knows how to politic. She may be a successful coach but I think she’s actually expendable. None of those girls deserve to be treated like that’s.

Well no, she is that bad. Seriously, acting as childish and unprofessional as she did right now is exactly that bad. It's simply unforgivable. Evgenia is certainly flawed, as is every human being, but what Eteri does is simply vile and "hurt feelings" don't excuse that.

Yeah, I wish Eteri hasn't brought Alina into this. Before the Olympics season at least, Alina and Evgenia were very close; this must be hard for Alina too, on a personal level. And then she dragged BOrser into this too. Sure, he sounds a bit hypocritical in that IN article, but I'm sure he's not actively sabotaging Eteri. I'm sure it was Evgenia who approached him not the other way around.

You know, she does indeed remind me of Abby Lee Miller. Interesting comparison...
--both built themselves from the ground up
--both have crazy successful students
--both are supposedly "crazy"
--both have... interesting... mental tactics
--both are a fan of the over-train --> perform easier mentality
--both have had some crazy-dramatic splits (Chloe on Dance Moms, gosh I loved watching her dance)
--both have become pretty famous

Let's just hope Eteri doesn't get cancer and that Abby makes a full recovery

Eteri is just a human. She couldn't manage her emotions of sadness and anger from Zhenya's betrayal (as Eteri sees her leaving without any discussion before it with her) when she trained her 11 years and considered her as daughter. Probably it's painful, it hurts very much. So - she let her emotions to win. Why there are so much hatred for her? TAT was much ruder than Eteri many times - yet she still is respected woman.
