Finland has not announced which skater goes to which event as last season other than JGP. Matias Heinonen was supposed to skate at Linz but maybe he is injured because he is not mentioned to any JGP event any more.

I was looking at the entries for Sweden's national series and noticed the name Olivia Phillips in Junior Women. She's a Swedish-American skater who trains at The Skating Club of Boston. Her mother is Swedish so she probably has dual citizenship. I don't think she has competed in Sweden before, but I'm guessing she hopes to qualify for nationals?

Nordic Boys Camp with the purpose to inspire and support figure skating guys.

Skaters from Finland, Norway and Sweden came. They had training on and off ice, lectures and social activities like climbing. The camp was lead by Lorenzo Magri and Alexander Majorov(jr) for three days. Lectures by the trainers and an international judge, Åsa Nordback. Good feedback from the participants who liked training with a lot of other boys and the friendship.

Sad that no Danish boy came and have we ever seen an Icelandic guy figure skate?

None...But Finland had a photo of Finnish boys where they told the names. Well, I wrote in some competition thread that I have difficulties to connect names and faces anyway.

In juniors have been skaters, also men, from Denmark, Norway, Finland and Sweden. Let's hope in Nordics will be also so that it won't be Finland-Sweden match as it often has been.

I will go to cheer all Nordic skaters to Finlandia Trophy live. Unhappy about the late timing of women's competition on Sunday, but should be in time home to see it on TV. My fair boss gave me two extra holidays because I went to work during holiday, only for six hours. but I save it (the other one) to be able to watch Espoo GP live.

Linnea Ceder is on the list of the entries of next week qualification for nationals competition part1. That's why she is not going to Budapest. Last years medalist get the spot automatically if they take part to same discipline but Linnea did not take part at all. Many skaters who already have the spot in nationals will take part to qualifications, like Nella is going to do. Skaters are allowed to take part in both. I don't remember who qualificates, but in senior women there are less spots than in juniors. In all men's discipline usually all men who take part in qualification also get the final spot, because there are not so many of them.

Today starts qualification for nats. As it lasts whole day, I will watch only parts but am planning to watch most of the men and senior women. ID only kids - senior ID is not necessary because both pairs already have the spot for the final in december.

I am a little bit confused as on local feds site is told "Valtter Virtanen starts his season in November in Kazakhstan". If that means Denis Ten memorial, he will skate as a single, because there is no pairs competition - and there is no else competition it can mean. Has he turned back to singles or does he both?

I don't know if this is the case, but the Denis Ten Memorial might planning to have a Senior Pairs competition that doesn't have Challenger status. The same as is being done this week at the Budapest Trophy.

The Provisional Event Schedule in the Announcement PDF only has Singles and Ice Dance competitions at Junior and Senior level, but there is a disclaimer saying:

This schedule is subject to changes and will be updated in accordance with the final number of entries.​

So, you never know, they might add Junior and / or Senior Pairs if there are partnerships that want to compete there.

It definitely means singles, Tilda can't skate internationally for Finland until after November 19th, regardless of if Denis Ten Trophy includes pairs or not.
If I remember correctly, Valtter has said he wants to try doing both for the time being, but I thought that was off the table after he was not named as an entry for GP Espoo, but I guess he realised it's better to not put all eggs in one basket when faced with strong competitors like Väänänen/Clerici.

You do remember correctly, but local Fed announced "Finland did not get another mail skater to TBD men, because Valtter Virtanen turned to pairs and other are doing JGP so I also thought he decided not to skate in singles any more. But the situation is not easy in men either. Makar Suntsev is able to jump 3-3s and also 3As, though he has not tried 3As in international comps, but has done it in nats. After getting 200+ scores in Finlandia, I think he may try risk and go for more difficult jumps. But V/C:s has suprised maybe everybody being already so strong. Edit. There was time when Valtter was the only male skater in senior men in nationals. Today there are 5 skaters in both juniors and seniors men's disciplines - and there are skaters who are not even taking part to this first qualifications, for example Arttu Juusola. There is still another qualification in November.

There's only one international competition with pairs after November 19th and before Nationals (apart from the GPF) - CS Golden Spin of Zagreb. It's also the last competition that counts for Euros & 4CC mins for pairs. There just really aren't very many competitions for pairs, particularly after the first 1/3 of the season.

But there's a chance that they'll do at least one domestic competition in November, like Väänänen/Clerici last season.
