Official Russian Nat teams for 2016 Euros

Yes it was very bad and horrible when kovtun was chosen in 2013 when he didnt deserve it at all. This is a good selection.

Sad for Ruslena, Adian  and Yulia, but I'm thrilled for Lena (the first Russian lady in a while to fight a growth spurt and win!), Anna (talk about a comeback) and SinKats (and they thought you should break up...:p). This will be an awesome Euros!

P.S.: Euros is in January, right?

Yeah, 25th-31st.

I know it speaks to the depth of the Russian team but, I'm still sad not to see Lisa, Adelina, and Alena on the team.:sad21:

The Euro pair championship will be a true test to see who is really the No.1 Russian pair imo. None of the other countries' pairs will stand up to these three.

Savche ko and Massot will. They hold some of.the highest scores this season in all of pairs.

Wow you're right. I totally forgot about them. I'm kinda afraid K/S wouldn't podium if they keep making mistakes then.

I have a feeling they won't because Yuko has really struggled lately. That said, if everyone went clean j believe it would be a Russian Sweep.

Aren't there some good Canadian Pairs? I can't keep track of them all. I thought Duhamel and Radford were doing well this season.

I thought we're talking about Euros only  Worlds will be even more intense with Sui/Han, Duhamel/Radford, possibly Savchenko/Massot again, et etc

It's a blessing and a curse really. It's a real blessing that, at this point, the field is Russia is so deep in every single disciple that they can choose someone in their own TOP 5-6, and they'd probably be in the TOP 10 of the world. On the other hand, so many talented skaters cannot and may never be able to take part in Euros or Worlds

I know it's only fair that you have to fight for your spot to get it, but in Russia's case it just seems straight up ridiculous.

I agree with those picks. Some are really harsh like Ruslena staying home for a 1point difference and with finishing 2nd in the FD. But they didn't have a good 1st part of the season that could warranty a spot like for Stolbova and Klimov. So I think it's fair Stepanova and Bukin get to go.
I am really happy for Anna as well. She deserves it!

For Worlds however, I hope they send Liza. As the reigning world champion she should have the right to try and defend her title regardless of how bad her season has been.

Liza have a chance for Worlds. She just need to show her best at Russian Cup finals, and hope it would be better showing than other ladies' at Euros. Totally possible.

I think judges will try to hold Volosozhar/Trankov up no matter what, they are clear Russian No. 1 for judges.

I agree, they'll receive stellar PCS, so they can afford 1/2 mistakes here and there and still score 220+. I don't think that anyone can beat them unless something like GPF 2013 happens (which is of course sad, since their programs are nothing special in comparison to what the other top teams have, artistically) :ohwell:

Yay for pairs! Tat and Max have my favorite SP this season and their free skate is definitely not bad at all (the performance here was MUCH improved from Nebelhorn, which is to be expected, but it's very nuanced). Perfect lifts and they look to be getting their speed and flow back. Fedora and Ksenia, if they perform their LP like at GPF, I think they could win. I absolutely love, love, LOVE it (and as many know, Tat and Max are my pair). With these two and Sui/Han, I don't think there's room for D/R and K/S. The quality of the other three are just unmatched.
