Well, the 4CC LP was a mixed bag. The 4T+3T was perfect and the 3A was awesome. Then the 4S, 4T, and second 3A were not good. The 3Lz was not his friend at this competition.
The 3F+2T+2Lo, though unplanned, looked very secure. The program was enjoyable anyway. The footwork, choreographic moments, and spins are what make his programs amazing and he did all that. No, I won't show this one off to my friends, but I'm grateful to have seen another Journey.
I'm glad that he is excited to get back to training to fix these errors for Worlds. He knows he needs to improve and acknowledges how to work toward that while remaining positive! Results aside, I'm looking forward to Worlds! There are so many amazing skaters with different strengths.
The gala clips are nice to see! It's so great to see the skaters having fun with each other and being out of competitive mode.
I have realized that I love hearing commentary when Patrick skates clean but, when possible, I'll pass on it if he doesn't skate clean. I don't need to hear "that won't stack up technically with the others," "he needs the jumps to get on the podium," or any such things because I already know that. The commentators are paid to focus on the competition and sometimes all I want is to focus on the skating. So, in this case, the No Commentary video is enough for me.
