if Caro will win ( i hope she won't do a disaster like in Canada) do you think she can get the final?

Ciao Hiara:) If Carolina wins, she will have 24 points. It's hard to predict which are the numbers that allows a skater to make the Final. Maybe we will have two skaters with 30 (Mao and Yuna), two with 28 (Yukari and Joannie) and then there are some skaters who could get 26 and go, so who has 24 is out.

Oh sorry I made a mistake... Joannie Rochette and Yukari nakano will probably get 26, not 28.

If Caroline Kostner or Rachael Flatt win this game, they CAN go to Grand Prix Final, no matter Fumie get silver or bronze.
If Fumie get silver here, and then Miki Ando can't go to the final because of the tie breaker rules against the COR Champion...
Miki can get the spot when Fumie just got down to bronze or even lower, or Carolina and Rachael both did not win COR.

Now Alissa is in the mix, but she has not so much possibility if she got silver or even lower....

Kostner and Suguri need to hold it together here, and they've got this one covered without a doubt..

Doesn't Alyssa have to WIN in order to even be in the running for the GPF? Sorry, ain't gonna happen...but this should be a nice, bonus experience for her before Nats.

Repeated here from what I devised:

For CoR, Flatt needs a win to bring up her GP score to 24 for possible Finals.

Kostner needs a win to bring up her GP score to 24 for possible Finals

Suguri needs to podium to bring her score up to 28, 26 or 24

Czisny needs to podium to bring her score up to 26, 24 or 22

Meissner and Meier seem to be too far behind.

Rochette (TEB) needs to place for a 30, 28, 26

OOPS. Forgot Ando who has finished and has 24 points..

With Kim already with 30 and Mao most likely to finish with 30 and with NHK coming up: Lepisto, Nakano, and Wagner could also make the Finals, how can one pick the 6 lucky ones for the Finals? unless, one picks personal favorites.

Yu-Na is going to GPF with GOLD GOLD

and MOST LIKELY...to GPF

Mao GOLD GOLD
Joannie GOLD SILVER
Yukari SILVER SILVER

These four skaters fight for last 2 SPOTS.

Fumie, Alissa, Rachael and Carolina.
Whoever wins... is Guaranteed to go GPF.

Last one spot is... Including Miki and Laura...
Depending on the OUTCOME of... CUP of Russia.

I wanted to watch TEB before trying to make any predictions. Here goes:

Ladies
Assuming no one drops out...
1. Kostner, who will finally give us one clean program, for the first time this season. One should be enough.
2. Suguri
3. Czisny
4. Meissner, not totally disasterous this time!
5. Flatt
6. Sebestyen

Pairs
Based mostly on what I'm hoping to see...
1. Voloshozar & Morozov. Tatiana is just so awesome, I hope they win some medals for her sake.
2. Zhang & Zhang
3. Kawaguchi & Smirnov

Dance
1. Domnina & Shabalin
2. Khokhlova & Novitski
3. Davis & White
4. Capellinni & Lanotte, though I would have them ahead of D/W.
5. Zaretski & Zaretski (I hope for their sake they won't drop lower).

Men
I've given this one some thought, and have decided that Joubert will come in with something to prove rather than dispirited and hesitant*. Please Brian, prove me right!
1. Joubert
2. Verner, back on form. I hope. ;)
3. Preaubert
4. Voronov
5. Abbott, finding the weight of the expectations following CoC a bit too much :frown:.
6. Borodulin

ETA
* I think Joubert may actually drop out if he's not mentally prepared. He's never done that before but I think this might be an exception.

Bennett, it just seems like he's having some confidence problems that need to be dealt with. Simond, I think, said something about Joubert going through a period of self-doubt or something to that effect. They may decide to take some time to sort things out rather than risk another let-down, especially with so little time to get ready for CoR. TEB would have been a huge disappointment. Maybe Joubert would be better off prepping for French Nats - he hasn't lost there since 2002 - and Euros, where the field this year is not that strong. On the other hand, withdrawing from CoR would just leave him with more time to dwell on things. So I really don't know.

When Lambiel and Buttle retired, some people suggested that it may have an adverse affect on Brian becuase he motivates himself by facing the very best people (and despite the scores he's gotten this year, Patrick Chan is not on the same level as Stephane Lambiel). I think Brian needs time to adjust to the new situation in the men's field.

Maybe I should just revise my prediction. But I really do think he may surprise us - and it's not like this analysis is based on any personal acquaintance with Brian.

CoR is the most difficult GP competition to predict who will come out on top.

Suguri, Rachael, Alissa and Carolina... all fight for GOLD to go GPF.

I just wish Rachael... my favorite...stand on Top of podium.

It'll be REAL CLOSE !

You're on to it but Suguri just needs a bronze to tie Ando and she could at least get that. Better than bronze is very secure.

Czisny needs a Silver, it's possible.

Flat and Kostner need Gold and high scores to break ties.

and btw, Forget NHK because it is super skaters' home grounds. Wagner and Lepistto who also need Gold will have a time of it. NHK is the tougher one.

GPF Finalists
1.Yu-Na GOLD GOLD (By points)
2.Joannie GOLD GOLD

3.Mao SILVER GOLD
4.Yukari SILVER SILVER

5.Whoever wins CoR (tie breaker by Color of Medal)
--- Fumie, Alissa, Rachael and Carolina ---

6.Too many possible Podium Combination yet to predict the last spot.

These 6 are still in it for the last spot... depending on CoR outcome.
Suguri, Alissa, Rachael, Carolina, Miki and Laura.

You are right... Suguri is in better position... All she need is SILVER to GPF.
Rachael and Carolina... must win to go Seoul.

Alissa needs minimum silver and beat Miki by country RULE.(3 max/country)
or in total scores.
