BIG BIG BIG 4S throw. She 2footed the landing, but it was awesome!
3S throw in the second half.

Their program has noticeable increase in transitions. They are really going to fight for one of the spots.

At the end of last season, I thought they would be done. I'm so wrong. And very glad to be wrong here. Go C/S.

Isn't it weird to see Shiz there?
She skated with Lambiel in that cheese fest before.
She's the only Asian to be invited. None of Mao/Yuna/Miki/Akiko etc... are invited.

Miss Shiz won her two big events in Europe, so maybe her name carries more weight than the other girls.

In the last few years, I would have thought Asada and Kim carried a lot of clout around Europe. I also remember Lambiel inviting Ando on one of his shows a couple of years back (I was in Zurich atm when I saw posters) The TEB audience were always welcoming to Mao, esp during her tougher seasons and remember she's almost a regular at TEB. Kim, likewise- she set WR scores at Paris (if I remember correctly). Or maybe it was too cheesy for them lol. I always thought anything like Opera on Ice was a little...cringey.

The lift was nice.

In comparison to the programs and readiness I saw with A/E, none of the Zhulin programs have really grabbed me yet. Maybe he's purposefully getting them ready later. Now however I'm curious to see S/B, S/Z and I/K:popcorn: Plus of course everyone else in the top 10 from worlds. It's gonna be exciting!!

Christina Gao's new LP to the Angels & Demons soundtrack:

I thought it meh; I don't like the music cuts. I don't see this being the vehicle that finally makes the US judges take notice of her. Good to see her going for the 3F-3T again though.

Christina clearly was not ready for this competition. She appeared to be focused on the choreography. Although, she did have some nice moments in the program, I find the music to be so haunting. I don't think that is her style. She also appeared to be in a practice session marking her program. Did she manage to pull out the win? I read that Baga one the FP.

I believe that Christina won the competition by merit of her strong short program, with Kiri coming in a close second.

I keep thinking that Meryl and Charlie may skate to Bolero for their SD, maybe even their FD. I know it's very, very unlikely, but what if..really don't know what I'd think about that..

Love Gao's dress and 3F-3T yay!

Christina looks to be in great shape, but that music does NOT suit her style at all. She needs something graceful and smooth to show off her gorgeous, fluid lines. A sharp and fast-paced piece fails to accentuate the many qualities of her skating, and as a result, the choreography came off as awkward and unconvincing.

I really like Christina's new LP. It's very elegantly choreographed to show off her long lines. I love that she's adding in more drama and intensity. And--am I right that she did a beautiful 3F/3T at the beginning? Hopefully this means she'll keep that combination in the LP all year. That would really, really help her, I think. I do agree her posture could still improve, especially in the footwork section in the middle. Nonetheless, I like this program. I think the international judges will like it, too.

Also watched Castelli/Shnapir. I'm a little disappointed in their LP. They performed it well, but it's a little simplistic, not very sophisticated. The elements were so strong, though. I'm wondering if this is the jump layout they'll use all year. It's a little odd--they're performing three different Salchows--4Sal Throw, 3Sal Throw, and SBS Sal. I'm not sure if the judges will be happy seeing the same jump repeated three times (albeit in different formats). Overall though, they seem to be in very good shape for the start of the season. They're definitely going to challenge for the team if they can maintain this level.

I think she has some injury because she did not attempt a lutz or flip in either the SP or FS. In the FS, she did a 3t-3t as well as two solo 2ts so I tend to think 2 of those four toe jumps are supposed to be a lutz and a flip.

monko khaliavin, bobrova soloviev fd's are AWSOME. Zhulin is a genius.

^I hope one of the younger teams can dethrone R/T, I can't believe they are skating to Phantom of the Freaking Opera. Chicago SD I can live with but POTO FD?

M/K are looking good!!!
