Overall, great short program night. Let's hope the free is just as exciting.

I agree, and I also really enjoyed seeing the skaters who maybe didn't end up so high in the final point total. Some of them were very entertaining and any one of them, with a little luck, could have made it into podium contention. Some of them were very entertaining and any one of them, with a little luck, could have made it into podium contention.
Taylor!YES the score will be adjusted, like at the 2004 World Championships, Evan Lysacek, during his free skate a number was put in wrong and they ended up lowering his score, fortunately for him it wasn't enough to take him off the podium.
YES if Rache'ls triple-triple was downgraded then so should Kimmie's. the rule is that if its more than a quarter turn cheat on the end then its downgraded down to the next highest value. Kimmie's was definately more than a quarter turn cheated and it should've been downgraded to a triple-double but i mean of coz she's the World Champion, their going to keep her up there if they at all can, this is also coming from a Kimmie Supporter.
Yeah 4th would do, as long as she gets higher than 6th, she definately deserved to be higher than Alissa Czisny and she was marvelous, in my opinion Alisa's popped lutz took her out of the top three.

but that was the WORLD championships, wasn't it? This is the USFS we're talking about here (but then they should adjust it if necessary). An adjustment might mean bumping her up to 4th so it would affect the placements of everyone below her. Plus, a wrong entry is different than a mistake on a call. Has a mistake on a call ever been fixed?
The outcome of the competition still depends how everyone skates in the final. And Rachael moving into medal position will not affect the composition of the World team anyway, since she is too young to compete at Worlds.
I do not see why USFS judges would have any motive, sinister or not, to give Meissner inflated scores. What would they stand to gain?
they tried to make her the next STAR then by doing all the comentary in Paris. But they found that all she can say is awesome. She lucked into the World title and that's their selling point now. By the coverage of the Men's shorts last night they have definately decided to put all their eggs i the Womes's basket and they have already invested in Kimmie.
The "they" who made the decisions you're referring to here is ABC/ESPN, not the USFSA.
Thanks for clearing that up, grossano. So Dick Button and crew were just blowing smoke when they said that Rachael's coach was asking for a review?
all ican say is that no matter what system we have, the judges alwasy seem to but the favorite on top. especilly in ladies skating. In dance adn men's skating the juding seems better. Rachel skated a better program than kimmie, who looked like her usual self. I don't see anything in kimmie skating that would but her over rachel or give her a edge on the world scene. yeah, she is world champion only because last years world cahmpionshops were a splatfest and managed to land the difficult jumps. Her artisty is improved, but she will never be another michelle kwan.I haven't seen Flatt's performance yet but Kimmie's Triple Toe is the most cheated 3Toe I've ever seen ratified. What an idiot tech caller.

The willingness of the judges to hold Kimmie up is quite disturbing. They have always given her elevated performance scores when she skates so stiff and flailing her arms so but now they are willing to aid her techical scores. I think it's time for instant replay on the big screens. USFSA makes me sick the way they think all their judges are so fair and only a foriegn judge would favor a skater. No wonder the general public has turned away from watching skating and only us die hard fans still watch no matter how discusted with the process we get
