I agree, and I also really enjoyed seeing the skaters who maybe didn't end up so high in the final point total. Some of them were very entertaining and any one of them, with a little luck, could have made it into podium contention.In fact, seeing how evenly matched all the competiors are and how the least little bobble can drop you a bunch of places when every one else skates well -- that really puts Michelle's record of nine U.S. championships in perspective, to me.

USFSA policy is that an incorrect call is a field of play decision that cannot be overturned. Only a calculation error can be corrected.
Bumping Rachael up to 4th would not change the placements of everyone below her; the same skaters would remain in the final group. Under CoP, it's total points that count, not ordinal placement. Rachael would merely be receiving the points she earned, and that has nothing to do with anyone else.
The outcome of the competition still depends how everyone skates in the final. And Rachael moving into medal position will not affect the composition of the World team anyway, since she is too young to compete at Worlds.
I'm not so sure that is true. The willingness of the judges to hold Kimmie up is quite disturbing. They have always given her elevated performance scores when she skates so stiff and flailing her arms so but now they are willing to aid her techical scores. I think it's time for instant replay on the big screens. USFSA makes me sick the way they think all their judges are so fair and only a foriegn judge would favor a skater. No wonder the general public has turned away from watching skating and only us die hard fans still watch no matter how discusted with the process we get.

They need a new STAR. She did a questionable triple axle 2years ago and they tried to make her the next STAR then by doing all the comentary in Paris.But they found that all she can say is awesome.She lucked into the World title and that's their selling point now. By the coverage of the Men's shorts last night they have definately decided to put all their eggs i the Womes's basket and they have already invested in Kimmie.

The "they" who made the decisions you're referring to here is ABC/ESPN, not the USFSA.
This is true but they had to get permission from USFSA for Kimmie to do it.
I really enjoyed Flatt - and this was my first time seeing her. I also really enjoyed seeing most of the SP - a real competition - thanks ESPN. Now next year, just show us all of the men's SP too!!! And, it was really great seeing these women do well. I only wish Alissa hit that lutz!
I think this call IS really controversial - from the angle most of us had via tv, it was clearly a flutz with a triple toe on the end. AND Meissnerr's was clearly - imo - a shallow lutz with a triple toe that started with a toe axel and ended short. I think Meissner's really should have been down graded and Flatt's really should have been ratified (albeit with GOE"s reflecting the problematic entrance and leg swing etc.).

They can ask for a review, but it doesn't buy them much. For example, they can ask to review the voice recording to see if what is on the protocol is what was called at the time.

all ican say is that no matter what system we have, the judges alwasy seem to but the favorite on top. especilly in ladies skating. In dance adn men's skating the juding seems better. Rachel skated a better program than kimmie, who looked like her usual self. I don't see anything in kimmie skating that would but her over rachel or give her a edge on the world scene. yeah, she is world champion only because last years world cahmpionshops were a splatfest and managed to land the difficult jumps. Her artisty is improved, but she will never be another michelle kwan.- Joined

I haven't seen Flatt's performance yet but Kimmie's Triple Toe is the most cheated 3Toe I've ever seen ratified. What an idiot tech caller.

I'm honestly not surprised by any of this: After watching mens and ladies and seeing what IMO was inflated scores for both Kimmie and Evan I think it's pretty obvious who will win.

Kimmie's 3/3 looked as though she rotated on the ice before jumping and the landing was cheated. Rachael's no more so on the landing and no prerotation. So if one was ratifed the other should have been. Unfair and Kimmie should barely be in first Not by two+ points.
