Random Confessions

Today's random confession. I love sewing. Like most arty/crafty things I'm not very good at it - I tend to rush stitches and so on - but I enjoy the feeling of creation so much. And I love fabric. I could spend all day in a fabric store, meandering around looking at the various patterns and colours. I even sew my own costumes.

Thanks Doris. His name is Antonio Mushtashio because he's has a mustache. He's a great cat.

they are only in our lives for a short time but they have a huge impact.

They do. My last two were Lydia The Tattooed Lady, a silver tabby, and Mrs. Murphy (for Murphy's Law), an orange and black tabby. Their sister was a basset hound named Andee Rooney, she had jowls that looked just like his. I got them within a couple of weeks of each other. You should have seen all three of them chasing a mouse.

He's a great cat. He's one of those tuxedo cats with huge whiskers and he loves to cuddle but his liver is failing.

We will adopt another dog but I'm still dealing with what happened to our GSD, Eli, and then this cat's illness.

Dogs can be like potato chips. You can never have just one.

:ghug:
I am so sorry about Antonio Cat, ancientpeas, since we have a dog in my family for 6 years I really get the emotional side of having a pet. Recently, we had to find someone to take care of Fifi for a month, because of my mom's work abroad and neither me and my sister could take the dog to where we live - and I cried like crazy when I got her back...

I hope another dog will bring only joy and positivity to You and your family :)

Thanks. I'm glad you got your dog back too. I know when I was away from Eli when I saw him again I was overcome. He thought I was being a big wuss. Such is life with a GSD.

I'm sure our next dog will happen soon. Maybe in the spring. Probably another GSD but a rescue this time or we might take on the labradoodle I'm currently caring for. She is older and kind of needing a home where the small dog won't bully her and she won't be the bottom of the heap.

Labradoodle, is it the breed of the cutie Kaetlyn Osmond has? I am in love with that doggie:luv17:! Our Fifi is a mix of Maltese (Shibutanis have 2 of those:)) and Yorkshire terrier, cutie too:)

My four kitties and I send hugs and prayers to Mr. Antonio...:ghug:

A labradoodle is a mixture of a Labrador and a standard poodle (so a large poodle not a toy poodle). She is quite large. Probably 80 to 90 pounds.
You can also get a goldendoodle which is a mix of golden retriever and standard poodle.

Kaetlyn's dog didn't look big enough to be a labradoodle to me.

The Westie is a troublemaker. She loves to get the two bigger dogs barking. She's adorable but you can tell she's full of attitude. The Rescue is very very neurotic and has terrible separation anxiety. The labradoodle is super calm and sweet. Normally I'd dog sit them at their own home but I'm doing this as a favour for a friend (for free) and I have a very sick dying cat to care for.

Goodness, you do have quite a menagerie there! And how wonderful are you to be doing your friend a pet sitting favor!? So sorry to hear about the cat. Heck, I'm still getting a lump in my throat looking at that big boy in your avatar!

ETA -- Was drawing a blank but just remembered his name was Eli!

I haven't been catching up too much lately. Other sports team loves, talking to someone special, and school. Good thing I have link available to watch the Olympics on NBC Olympics! I'm pumped for this week!

I wonder if NBC has paid Youtube to promote US skaters. Several friends of mine living across the world have said they see numerous suggestions of US Nationals videos even though they never watch it.

I tried to put together a shoe rack and accidentally broke one of the plastic joints.
It's only in 3 pieces, so I could superglue it back together... but I don't have any superglue. Or any spares. :slink:

Fell asleep on the sofa tonight and woke up about 3 am (hate it... nothing done, all lights on etc) so took both dogs outside for a break. I moved to country setting a couple of months ago where I cannot see my nearest neighbors but across the road about a quarter of a mile away in the woods is a broken down cabin.. roof caved in, no windiws. Well, I am standing on the front lawn with the dogs and I notice a light thru the trees in direction of the cabin... the light flickered somewhat so I wondered if someone was there and maybe had a fire going. Very very spooky but dogs did not react.... unsettling.

It is Toque Tuesday! Put them on and stay warm. -10C as a high here in Ottawa so I was wearing my hat when I shoveled snow this morning.

Ok, I watch too much Dateline and 48 Hours. :drama: You're scaring me! :scard7:
