Random Confessions

I was thinking and HYPOTHETICALLY if I became a figure skating coach (Which will never happen cause I never skated in that sense and don't have knowledge on technique and have no place in teaching someone) and if my student wears a necklace that's of religious importance and doesn't like taking it off, I would give them two options: either take it off or tape it to their chest with athletic tape. No other third option. I care about safety first and foremost. And that starts with jewelry removal. Still lingers on from my days doing dance and then later on cheer.

There actually is a third option that I am aware of as a former elite skater and now pro. You are able to wear the necklace and safely slip any bit "loose" under the costuming.

Done it for years with no issues.

Interesting. I never heard of safety slips.

Like I said, my dance and cheer brain starts going WHY when I see potentially dangerous jewelry be worn. Necklaces, hoop earrings, etc...

It's not anything called a safety slip.

I said one can safely slip it under the neck of the costume and its all good. :)

I’m afraid of and don’t ride Ferris Wheels —> 🎡

ME TOO! I forced myself to go on that stupid one in Las Vegas when I was there for the ISI Adult competition two years ago and it was hell. I'm not sure where this comes from because I am not afraid of heights but somehow my brain has decided the Ferris Wheel is the circle of death.

I'm still sending out Christmas cards. :slink:

I thought I was so on it buying them in November and then December happened.

I'm trying to paint it as "Christmas spirit into a New Year!"

There are twelve days of Christmas, up until Epiphany;)

But I am so obsessive, even though they are forever stamps, I am now trying to use up the extra Christmas stamps. I’ll never find them if I save them until next year:laugh:

Yep! I'm Catholic, so it's a perfect and valid excuse!

I have yet to pull out my suitcase and even start packing for my trip. I leave Monday.

I'm bored so I watch New Year in Korea, which is live, so there's no subs and I don't understand anything, but it doesn't stop me from watching...

EDIT: It's TV awards gala, fun to watch :)

LOL the Drama awards in Korea!! A hard-core k-drama fan once wrote that they're less award shows and rather "end-of-the-year company" awards, since they're for just the dramas for each television channel.

To those who are already in 2018 and those who are not - all the best in the new, upcoming year of 2018!!!:ghug::hb::dance2:

When I think about 2017, it went very fast. Regarding skating, too - I definitely continued to be more active here, posting more than just waiting for wise and knowledgeable people to post , people who helped me to discover few new skaters and often educated me about skating specifics. I as always enjoyed the thrill and fun of Predictions Games, all the enthusiasm in skaters Fan Fests, live reports from competitions. I hope only for more of those in 2018 - and to become the one to provide them.

As for 2018, my FS goal is to go to live event and I have Milan Worlds on my sight. I do hope it's not too late to plan it, buy tickets etc. I just hope that making this first experience happen will spark my determination to save and go more often to competitions:)

Good goals!

I decided on Boston Worlds in just a few months (actually this time two years ago) so I think you can make it happen!!!

Thanks, I do hope it is not too late to do it:), though seeing single ticket prices now shaping up to just Ice Dance events for me, if I want some Ice rink levels seat:laugh:, not sure if there will be some all-event packages available in more affordable prices... Just have to stalk an appropriate thread from tomorrow with my doubts regarding tickets and decide:)

And here I am, at New Year's Eve, watching 'Cinderella', Kenneth Branagh version for x-th time, my age is clearly showing

Pretty sure I've come down with the cold that was going around my office... I don't want to be sick on vacation
