Random Confessions

Um... did I miss something? I know white is a mourning colour in some cultures.

I think those of us who were at Boston Worlds remember a horrid incident where Ivan Rhigini skated into a white card that had been left on the ice and took a giant fall. :hopelessness:

Don't throw anything that can be easily overlooked by child sweepers.

I don't remember that. How terrible.

It was before they called his name, while he was cruising around the rink at speed waiting. It might have even been before the previous skater's scores were announced, so the TV broadcasts likely didn't pick it up.

(Like they didn't pick up the blue teddy lying on the ice during the last 2 minutes of Bychenko's FS at that event, too. I almost had a heart attack.)

There are too many threads on GS for me right now so I’m just avoiding most discussions. Also..I’m watching all of the other sports way more than Figure Skating. I guess I think I just prefer Worlds over the Olympics for this sport. :confused2:

It's pretty much the same with me.

I was watching both the figure skating and the other sports that interest me up until the weekend. Since then, I've been concentrating on the other sports at the Olympics. But I think I'm going to have to drop them as well, because the World Feed broadcasts of 4 Continents start expiring from Eurosport's On Demand service on Friday, and I didn't get a chance to watch any of it before the Olympics started.

Just finished watching the Short Dance.

I'll go back to the Olympic figure skating next week when it's all over, and all the arguing has calmed down on here. (As if the latter will ever happen! :rolleye:  )

And I prefer Worlds too! :)

I'm such an emotional mess right now because Olympics...
I want both Evgenia and Alina to win!

And just like that guys, I'm at 20,000 posts! :party2:

Thank you all for listening to my ramblings.

Day 5: too much GS, still not enough work getting done.

If Procrastination ever becomes an Olympic event, my GOE & PCS would be so high that they'd have to create a new medal just for me. Like maybe platinum, encrusted w/ diamonds. :palmf: :slink:

New confession: I've run across a few trolls who are getting on my last nerve. :bang: Gotta go find me some chill pills. Or chocolate. Or....MARTINIS! :hap93:

I am volunteering at synchro nationals tomorrow night and am trying to find a way to discreetly watch skating when I have a free moment. I will be in a building full of figure skaters and figure skating fans. There is no way I will be the only person thinking this!

A Platinum Diamond-Encrusted Medal..... I could live with that...!!
As for procrastination, I hear you big time! All animals need check ups at the vet, taxes waiting to be done, still driving around with out-of-state license plates and driver's license so a visit to the DVM is in order but here I sit on my duff immersed in Olympics... I have made up my mind everything will just have to wait but it bothers me because I am SO Type A.. :drama:

soooo typical me from last 2 weeks at work:slink:

about trolls - well, I can only apologize for particular Polish one (who proudly declared nationality, like it would justify hate/bias for one team or another, whatever) who resurfaced just as fast as was drowned in her own vomit produced regarding ID results. If the number on this poster's nick indicates her age, then it's kind of logical (12).

thank God, Ladies are the discipline I am the least invested in, because I am emotionally drained and dead on my feet - 2 more nights to go!

and yesterday I met with my friend from college time, after 3,5 years of not seeing with each other - and guess what, she caught up some Olympic FS headliners and we discussed all of that practically for the whole meet-up:laugh:. She told me also that I should definitely ditch my work and become sports journalist;)

ETA - 100 pages!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:cheer::cheer::hb::hb:

applause for 'Leaglly Blonde' and Sam-Skwantch who started all of this fab thread!!!:points:

The night from last Saturday to Sunday I slept 12 hours to catch up with sleep. I was getting up at 2.30, watched FS, then went to the office and worked from 7.oo am to 3.00 pm pretty much all week. Luckily, I'm only interested in the last group of girls tomorrow. It's messing me up, but I really missed it this morning.

And it got real today. As for Milan.

Bought tickets and booked hotel. No return now.

:hopelessness:

I know it really sounds pathetic, but this is the first that big thing done only for myself in my life. And I am a bit... lost in feelings right now. Cannot afford unfortunately for all 8 segments and EX, but tried my best to get as much as I could. I am going to Pairs SP and FS, Ice Dance SD and FD, Ladies and Men SPs.

As this is my very first FS event live, please share some useful fan's tips and 'etiquette'. To be honest, what I fear the most is being embarassed about my lack of experience at live FS events:palmf:, thank You all in advance:)

I really envy you! You'll have a great time. Live FS events are just class. Well, probably depends where you are and whom you meet, but there should be loads of fine GS folk about. By the end of it you might feel like a zombie (if you're like me and stay up almost all night and have one or two bevis to go with it :), but you'll be in a super happy place.
I'm still thinking about it, my main reason would be Stolbova/Klimov. They say they're going to Worlds, but I wouldn't bet my life on it. Javi has also cancelled and I wonder who else won't turn up. I haven't got that much cash to spare and not many holidays left to take and I'm already thinking of Rostelecom...

Figureskatingfanproblems, a nice thing to have! :hap10:
