Random Confessions

I have a friend who has a newly discovered crush on Yuzuru. For once in my life, I have an opportunity to discuss figure skating with a person face to face. The saddest part is that she usually has her moments where she is super into something and then fades out. Going to try to milk this I-love-figure-skating phase from her for as long as I can! Maybe I can even convert her to being a legit fan!

I haven't gone into Facebook, my e-mails, or The Edge* since before the Olympics started, for fear of seeing spoilers.

Now that I have finally got the Olympics finished (apart from the Closing Ceremony, which I am watching tonight), I am dreading opening them because I know it will take me forever to go through them.

* = OK, so during the past few weeks I did post in a couple of threads that are in The Edge. But, I went directly to those threads through links. I didn't go into The Edge forum itself.

I've been so distant recently. School stuff, talking to my friends and bf (Either talking IRL or online), etc...I've been feeling distant. But Wednesday I'll be bacccckkkkk. Cause I can't wait for junior worlds!

Since we have Women's Day in Poland today - all the best for all women of GS Forum! :cheer::cheer::cheer:

and I've got asked TWICE this week at work to become a mentor by my co-workers, as we have those programs on different grades - I have never be one for anyone, but I agreed. It could be a great experience and I feel incredibly flattered that someone admire my work ethics and experience:)

Congratulations :cheer: :cool2::yahoo:

Thanks a lot:ghug:, I have, let's say, a bit of down period at work right now, pretty much thinking about changing jobs and this really cheered me up, that someone actually sees my efforts and cares about them personally. Thank God, a week and 2 days and Milano adventure will be right there! :)

And I got my cooking /baking groove in again - planning to do a spicy pumpkin soup and chocolate-cherry muffins tomorrow :) :laugh:

I got 4th in my first event at adult Sectionals. Having not competed in over a year and never done a large competition ever I am pretty happy. If I hadn't messed up my camel spin and gone all adult leg syndrome on my jumps it might have been higher. I did my level 2 sit spin though which was good. This event was 6.0, it will be interesting to see how the IJS event goes tomorrow (aka how much IJS murders me!).

Overall Adult Sectionals has been super inspiring. This is what I wish all the people who post on here about starting late and wanting to be elite skaters could see. These adult skaters are amazing at all levels, and they all love skating. It's amazing- you can be dedicated to skating and love it at any age.

Congrats! :yahoo:

This is the point in the semester where the accelerator in put into full. And you feel like you have a lot to do and not a lot to do at the same time.

And then the IJS event happened... where I managed to fall on a sit spin and get downgraded on a single toe loop :slink:...

I still really enjoyed adult sectionals even though IJS murdered me. The positive is that next year the only place to go is up and I now know exactly what I need to do to get where I want. That said, I am giving myself 24 hours to sulk/wallow in self pity.

With wine... lots of wine...

I failed a mandatory educational assessment exam in writing proficiency as a kid (about nine or ten years old).

In the words of Homer Simpson, “I am here to give hope to the least of you....”
