Rhythmic gymnastics

Is there an age gap between the two sets? I'm thinking of a situation where the younger twins might get interested in the sport because they heard of the older pair with their names, and decided to take it up themselves.
Internationally talking the federation internationale of gymnastics has norm the ages of the junior and senior levels.

Junior are from 13 - 15 years old and senior 16 years and up . Even there's some gymnasts that was in their 20s competing like Tatiana Cocsanova that is competing in her 23 years old by example.

Lila's Raffaeli is so ugly, and Nastya Simakova's isn't much better. Both really elegant gymnasts too, and then you see the Raffaeli turn (in all four exercises at that!) and it is just completely wrong from top to bottom. The leg position (?????), the closed hip (Lila), the completely incorrect upper body alignment (Nastya)... Just no.

Lada is adorable and her body difficulties are so good, she just needed a bit of time to make the jumps from Junior to Seniors. I'm sure she'll do better this season (also hoping for that to be the case for Polina Karika).

Yana is such a delight, I was super surprised by her. Maybe not the execution or difficulty to be at the top in the USA currently, but so much fun and personality.
I thought that Aibota Yertaikyzy's Raffaeli (which she ditched, thank goodness) was going to be the ugliest Raffaeli that I had the misfortune of seeing but then Lila's had to come into existence... Simakova's is also ugly but more in vein with the other ugly Raffaeli's so I was kind of braced for it, not that I was happy to be so but (sigh) Sofi what have you done...

Lada is of course a delight, I just wish that she could have a special clubs routine for once. I've had a soft spot for her since 2022 (her ball at Euros stole my heart) but I have not loved any of her clubs, they're all just so generic 'fun clubs routine' and forgettable. Maybe it's that Raskina is not the most versatile regarding choosing music for clubs, maybe not, I just want her to have a clubs routine that I can love...

Rin should be the top US gymnast this season barring disasters, but the American gymnasts often tend to surprise me with a fun routine full of character, which is lovely. That's how I began to stan Evita, for instance

Born nine years apart (Averina twins in 1998, Mironskaya twins in 2007), but the younger set were born long before the older set became part of the conversation in RG. The Averinas didn't start competing internationally until 2011/2012, and were honestly pretty unremarkable as Juniors. Dina won bronze at Jr Nationals in 2013 and Arina placed 5th, those were their highest placements. Their breakout season didn't come until 2017, and honestly, they weren't (both) supposed to be the stars from the get-go. Viner would have loved to have Dina and Sasha Soldatova, but Sasha was already struggling so Arina had a chance to join her sister's rising star.
Don't remind me of Sasha Soldatova, she was one of my darlings and her struggles broke my heart so much that I actually quit watching for about 2 months after Russian Nationals in 2019... I still maintain that Sasha was another victim of the hated 2017-2021 code

Not knowing any of the gymnasts, I don't know these twin sets' last names or what country/countries they represent/represented. Are they all competing at the same time? Now? Or an older pair in the past and a younger pair now?

She brings me memories of Mary Sanders routines, American gymnasts are a true surprise in their routines , when seen Evita routines in Panam 2023 was , wow .. America has improved it a lot!! Wonderful

I would say that wasn't just victim, she could adapt to 2017 -2021 but Russia is more technical but haven't soul their routines, something artistic or expressive but well I hope of someday they return to international stage adapt it to the new times

The Averini (the Russian twins, the famous ones) officially retired last year while the Mironskaya sisters (Austrian, currently competing at Gimnastik International) are in their third year as seniors

I can't tell which US girl reminds you of Mary Sanders (Rin? Yana Golovan? Evita?) but yes, they can be a lovely surprise and often are. And I don't want to argue over Sasha Soldatova because I just cannot be objective when she's the topic on hand, I'll just say that Sasha's strengths did not match what the 2017-2021 CoP wanted and that wasn't truly her fault. And on Russian choreography: the decline in quality began in 2017, you cannot say that Evgeniya Kanaeva's/Rita Mamun's/Yana Kudravtseva's routines did not have artistry. Maybe the new head coach Tatiana Sergaeva will make changes and bring artistric improvement but I have not followed Russian RG since 2022 so

Surely there's changes with Tatiana but will take time and i hope be positive changes to them

I do not like Poland's 5 ribbons routine, which is a disappointment because I loved the previous team's routines, hoping that the mixed routine is better. Germany's is okay if you don't count the drops and mistakes, but the absense of Kameliya Dunavska shows. Speaking of Ms. Dunavska I wonder whether she'll bring her magic to the US group and give them a glow-up

Ah, we're back to 5 ribbons for the groups - I guess gymnasts don't love it (one ribbon is hard enough to keep untangled, much less five of them at the same time), but I do 😁

Actually, one of my favourite Jr group routines is coincidentally a 5 ribbon routine (& a Russian group at that):

And of course, sunny memories of Rio 2016:

Two of the German Olympic group gymnasts are now coaching the tiniest of tiny gymnasts, they had a little performance during the Junior competition. Very cute.

Nastya 1st, Lila in 2nd (due to the ribbon drop), 3rd Natalya Usova and Hatice in 4th 😁
And presents for everyone.

Meanwhile on Italian Serie A: Claudia Mancinelli did awesome with Sofi's clubs

I was into Uzbekistan's 3+2 before the music cut, the second half is fine on its own (minus the huge loss) but the two parts just do not flow...

Germany going full Rio (the movie), taking a book out of the many Brazilian/Rio de Janeiro-themed routines from the 2016 Olympics.
Rough around the edges for now, but we'll see how they and this program develop until Worlds in August.

A bit of knowledge. In Italy are allowed "hire" international gymnasts for a just a national championship ( club competition) .

I enjoyed these, especially the ball routines. The one piece of equipment I was hopeless at using. Nothing to hold on to, if you have small hands :drama:

There is a Bulgarian gymnast, she's 19 years old but is smaller ,I think 1,41 mts . stiliana nikolova . I share a video of her clubs routine from past month Bulgarian championship. She's the world champion

She looks younger than 19 because she's so tiny. I'm somewhere around 1.6 m, but I buy footwear and gloves in children's sizes. The clubs and ribbon at least gave me something to grab onto, and the hoop as long as I didn't get it sideways. My daughter is several inches taller than I am and was much better at RG. She eventually gave it up because she didn't like that it was an all girls sport, though. Are there still no male rhythmic gymnasts? You see them now on synchro teams in both skating and swimming. I'm surprised still not to see any in RG.
