Khokhlova/Novitski 106,78
Rubleva/Shefer 92,54
Bobrova/Soloviev 88,02
Mikhailova/Maximishin 85,80
Platonova/Grachev 79,89
Zlobina/Sitnikov 74,84
Zhurina/Batischev 70,15
Gmyzina/Lobanov 68,09
Kolotilina/Bortsov 61,83

It seems that R/S will be clearly 2nd, so they go to Euros, whatever DomnShabs do... B/S and M&M will fight for the 3rd place and (maybe) a trip to Zagreb.

Pairs SP is next. I will be doing live coverage. Pairs seem interesting this year. 3 places for Euros for Russia. Let's see...

1. Bazarova/Larionov
light blue for her, black with light blue for him
sorry for missing the beginning
throw jump big
sbs spins OK
nice lift
death spiral with a change of hand
mirror step sequence
good pair spins

I really liked them! Good for them!!!

Mukhortova/Trankov next!
Otonal
again missed the beginning
Great 3twist
She doubled the toeloop
nice one-hand lift
catch-foot entrance to deathspiral
sbs spins ok
pair spins (some werid positions) but good
st step sequence ok

I'm afraid I won't be able for very detailed analysis form now-on. I will keep posting though...

62,26 for them. 1st place. I really think they can medal at Euros

3. Ushakova/Karev

yikes outfit:chorus:
throw 3s good
star lift Ok
not good sbs spins

the weakest pair of the 3. slow flow over the ice and slow in their elements

53,92, 3rd place

end of 1st group

4. Любовь ИЛЮШЕЧКИНА / Нодари МАИСУРАДЗЕ

another really clean program. I think this is a great event so far. A lot of Russian pairs can actually skate a clean short program, with sbs triples and a throw triple:agree:

54,95 they move to 3rd place

never heard of them before. when did they team up?

completely different question: why isn't Mikhail Magerovski competing? he wasn't even on the entry roster.

I'm terribly sorry but I have to abandon this. WebTV keeps lagging all the time, so it's really difficult both to watch and post here.
(Kawaguchi and Smirnov were great too BTW. Lots of clean programs today:agree:)

Congrrrrets to Yuko & Alexander! Well done!! (at least, today)

Kawaguchi/Smirnov were clean, but a little sloppy in a few places (she had a wild landing on the SBS jump, and he abandoned the SBS spin early). A little more complexity and transitions than Mukhortova/Trankov. It's a toss-up between the two, but of course, both should go to Euros if they are clean in the LP.
