Sara-Maude Dupuis

Gosh I like her attitude !!!! Very smart and honest comments on here. I fully support her quest to become National Champion.

Once again, one of our skaters is an international winner of a Challenger but has never won their own Nationals.

Isn't it two?

I've been catching up and saw that Sarah Maude won last week's challenger with a fully rotated triple axel. Wow! Congratulations to her. Have any Canadian women done 3A in competition before her free skate at Skate Canada? I know Lia Cho tried but not sure if it was counted. Was there anyone before that? Sorry for my ignorance, I still have a lot to learn.

I really liked Sarah Maude's Evanescence program from last two seasons. I like the energy and feeling she puts into her skating as well as her strength.

For Canadian women, Alaine Chartrand did have 3A attempts before in international competition but weren't rotated or landed. Uliana Shiryaeva attempted a 3A at one domestic competition in BC.

Robert Brodie has some comments from her after her free at Nationals:
“I’m obviously very disappointed. This is not how I wanted to skate today. It’s not how I was training either,” said the 20-year-old from Montreal. “So yeah, I’m going to have to reflect on what happened today and look and see where do we need to change.

“But I’m still happy to be able to perform for such a great crowd today, and I’m going to come back stronger.”
❤️

Happy she is just getting started. We tend to forget she's like only 20 or so

It is the mental game. She needs to work on that. She skated right after Maddie's huge score and knew she couldn't afford a mistake... so when it came, that was it. I am proud of her for fighting hard as this should give her a 4CC berth.

And comments after the free:

It's good that she enjoyed her skate after her free at Nationals :) She should be competing internationally next season with her SB and likely on the Grand Prix again. I hope next season she'll get a non-host spot.

Some recent events.

Sara-Maude performed at the Royalmount Spectacle de Patinage Artistique + Spectacle de Drones:

And she also performed at a Team Canada Fan Fest, it looks like she was also teaching kids ice skating there too :)
