It's going to be nerve wracking to watch live, but I think I'll be able to handle it. My poor Teddy Bear Izzie though...She's my clutch and squeeze to death and hide my eyes into thing I cling to during stressful stuff. This might just end up seeing stuffing flying this time.
Is it a bad thing I'm already planning various breakfast items to put together ahead of time?
Actually, it's going to be a blast. I've even booked off work Wednesday to Friday so I don't have to worry about being a zombie at work. (I'll just get up extra early on Tuesday and hope for the best -- Melody, my better half, could only get Thursday and Friday off)
It may not be quite the same as being there, but it does have it's advantages. Hey, not only can you have some breakfast goodies at the ready, but nobody's going to give you a second thought if you show up in your PJs.
Peter - What a sensible way to show Sports of all kinds. You guys in Canada are lucky to have that.
Joe
It is, and I'm going to make sure the powers that be at the CBC and Skate Canada know that this kind of coverage is appreciated.
The thing is, the feed is already there, so why not just pop in onto an otherwise underused channel (especially in the middle of the night) and get something out of it? I just wish they could have done this for Junior Worlds in Kitchener a couple of years ago and Calgary Worlds last year. It would have been neat to have a copy of the whole competition.
I wouldn't be surprised if we see more coverage of this nature in the future. NBC, for example, has already stated that for the 2008 olympics, they will be providing continuous and complete coverage of many sports. They aren't quite ready to get into the details yet but with the influx of Satellite, IPTV, and broadband internet, it should be quite doable, and fairly inexpensive.
